Creator 5 Support

I was able to successfully pair and connect to my Creator 5 Pro once, but after restarting the application, it sees the printer on the network, but is never able to connect. The first time, it prompted me to enter the pairing code, but now it just gives me a "Failed to Establish Final Connection" message whenever I double click my printer in the list of discovered printers, or manually enter the ip address.

FFUI does not yet support the Creator 5 series , I don't have the hardware myself yet and unsure when/if I would get one.

I have FW 1.7.8 and 1.9.2 for the C5/C5 pro on hand, and have started research/documentation which is fairly close to being complete, so it's great timing to come across a C5 owner interested in FFUI!

If you're able to take some time on a weekend/whenever, or run some python scripts for me (to dump the traffic/API values I need) , I should be able to get initial support added fairly easily.

Most of the API is the same for the C5, but I have no idea how uploading or starting jobs is (vs the 5M / AD5X), and there may be other small variances between them

(This is an update for myself and any other C5 users who come across this)

The primary issue has been fixed in 2362d5c , included in v1.0.5-alpha.3. Despite numerous references throughout the firmware, the C5 series does not keep the TCP socket present on the 5M/AD5X series.

Basic functionality (camera stream , LED control , listing local jobs, viewing what materials are present) is confirmed in this v1.0.5-alpha.3

The following features do not yet work and need to be fixed:

• Filtration control does not work, the C5 pro /control endpoint incorrectly reports it's not available (as previous models have).
• Viewing materials works , but updating them (what type / color) does not work
• Starting a recent multi-color job did not show the material matcher dialog. This is most likely due to being sliced with Snapmaker's fork of Orca, which is not yet supported by slicer-meta. If it's not a metadata issue, a network log of /printGcode and /uploadGcode (from FlashStudio) will be required.

Other features still missing :

• Temperature control per-toolhead. The capability is already in ff-5mp-api-ts, but needs a new custom temp card

Lastly, homing the axes and any other feature relying on g/m-code commands will not be available in the foreseeable future. These relied on the now removed TCP socket, and I've not found an alternative in what's available over the HTTP API.

Creator 5 support is stable as of 1.0.5-alpha.6 🥳

The only remaining known issue is filtration control, the printer does not allow for it to be controlled (like the 5M pro does), so the current controls need to be replaced to only show the TVOC value

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I am unable to connect to the Creator 5 Pro. I have it in lan Mode, it has a static assigned IP. I add the IP to Orca with the code and it works, but obviously cant see the camera or anything. but if I try to add it to Flashforge UI I get socket sat idle too long or Failed to establish connection after detecting Printer Type, and scanning my network doesn't work either.

Edit: not sure what changed from before but I uninstalled and reinstalled alpha 8 and scanning the network worked but still adding by IP did not. But I am connected now.

I believe this is a bug with manual connection only, I have a similar issue to fix in my home assistant plugin for FF printers. I'll take a look at this and have it resolved for the next alpha build

Edit: Also FWIW, after the first time you pair a printer (automatically or manual entry), FFUI will automatically find it on subsequent launches, regardless of the IP is static or changed

No issues with this version. It connected right away.
