Can additional attributes be stored on files?

Is it possible to set properties on the file such as type or category? I have it working with nested queries such as users/3/documents/something.pdf, but would like to set properties on the file to query against.

I'm sure you can enable that feature as I'm pretty sure the underlying storage abstraction supports it. You are more than welcome to add a pull request.
I will probably start at https://github.com/regevbr/loopback-component-flatstorage/blob/f2cf8020fac51b53f7d90947df7afe689c4ff2e8/lib/storage-service.js#L121 and add to it abilities to query by properties. Then you will need to edit https://github.com/regevbr/loopback-component-flatstorage/blob/f2cf8020fac51b53f7d90947df7afe689c4ff2e8/lib/storage-service.js#L208 to see how you can support setting those properties on uploaded files.
If you want to update properties on existing files you will need to add a support for the StorageService.prototype.update method which is currently disabled.
