Issue description

Problem

We regularly release updates to our SPFx solutions through Microsoft Marketplace. Each time, we have to contact our customers and ask a SharePoint administrator in every tenant to install the update manually.

The update flow is hard to find. The administrator has to open the tenant App Catalog, switch to the classic experience, select the app, open the Files tab, and choose Upgrade Store App.

Many customers do not complete this process. They stay on older versions while other customers update. Over time, we end up supporting several versions of the same solution in production. This is difficult to track and maintain, and customers miss fixes that are already available.

Possible solution

Give SharePoint administrators an option to keep Marketplace SPFx solutions up to date automatically.

The exact implementation is less important than the outcome: publishers should not have to contact every customer after every release, and customers should not have to repeat a hidden manual process to receive routine updates.
