Some parts of screen are pinkish-white instead of white

See top of screen -- ideally, these should be the same tone of white. Furthermore, in screens where components with white backgrounds don't cover the full size of the screen, the negative space will be this pinkish white color.

my intuition on this one is it has something to do with enabling edge to edge so the UI can take up the full screen regardless of status bars. If we do this though we'd need to add status bars padding.
