+Ration — AI Quota Tracker · Last updated: August 2026
+ ++ Ration collects no data. It has no backend, no analytics, no accounts, + and no telemetry of any kind. Nothing you do ever leaves your browser. +
+ +What Ration does
++ Ration is a browser extension that displays the remaining usage quota of + the AI subscription services you choose to enable (for example Claude + and Codex/ChatGPT). To do this, it calls the same internal usage + endpoint each provider's own settings page uses, from your browser, + using the login session you already have with that provider. +
+ +Data collection: none
+-
+
- Ration transmits no data to its developer or to any third party. +
- There is no analytics SDK, no error-reporting service, no remote configuration, and no runtime dependency of any kind. +
- The only network requests Ration makes are to the provider sites you explicitly enable, solely to read your quota. +
What is stored, and where
+-
+
- Your latest quota readings and your provider on/off settings are stored locally in your browser (
chrome.storage.local). They are never synced or uploaded.
+ - The Clear all data button in the popup permanently deletes everything Ration has stored. +
Credentials
+-
+
- Ration never reads, stores, or transmits your passwords, cookies, or tokens. It does not request the
cookiesbrowser permission.
+ - Requests to provider sites rely on the browser attaching your existing session automatically — the same way the provider's own settings page works. Where a provider's web app uses a short-lived session token, Ration obtains it from that provider's own session endpoint at the moment of the request, uses it in memory once, and never persists it. +
Permissions
+-
+
- storage — to keep your readings and settings on your device. +
- alarms — to refresh quota readings on a schedule (every 5 minutes per enabled provider). +
- Provider site access (e.g. claude.ai, chatgpt.com) — optional, requested only when you switch that provider on, and used solely to read your quota from that provider. +
Changes and contact
++ Ration is open source — its entire behavior is auditable at + github.com/devudilip/ration. + Changes to this policy are made in that repository with public history. + Questions or concerns: + open an issue. +
