your pseudocode is confusingly code-like

to me, i don't understand what's "pseudo" about your pseudocode, but if code isn't REAL code, then i avoid reading it.

i read the article to learn how to write correct js, not INcorrect js. If that code is not correct js, then i don't want to read it. So i didn't.

Why can't you use real code, instead of pseudocode? Or, use real english?

Writing Pseudocode is a popular way of defining your program and what you want it to achieve, without having to worry about the detail.

It's so people can understand the premise of what we want to do and start to think about how they can do it themselves. Pseudocode is a widely taught process, as far as I am aware. I use it myself when developing JavaScript and other languages. I can understand that it can be confusing at first glance, though!

i know what pseudocode is. My point is, when i'm learning a new language, my mind gets into "language learning mode", which for me is very focused and purposeful. So when i see Pseudocode that looks a lot like real code, then i have to switch gears to "don't learn this syntax" mode, because it's wrong syntax.

This having to switch gears disrupts my learning process, when the pseudocode has a strong resemblance to real js at first glance. My understanding is that Pseudocode can approach plain english, like your example in your reply above
