oops.py — UDEO Exploit Demonstration on a Real File
User-Defined Envelope Overload: T32/GF(2) Zero-Divisor Attack on SHA-1
Target: /home/rendier/Games/gamesDir.txt
THE ATTACK IN THREE ACTS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ACT 1 — ORIGINAL SIN
SHA-1's five IV constants are ALL mutually nilpotent in T32/GF(2).
The hash starts inside the zero-divisor locus before touching one
byte of the input. This is not a design flaw — it's invisible in ℤ.
Only visible when you embed SHA-1 in T32.
ACT 2 — PROPAGATION
40 of 80 SHA-1 rounds use ONLY XOR (Parity function: B⊕C⊕D).
XOR = T32/GF(2) addition. If state words are ZD in T32/GF(2), these
rounds propagate without ANY algebraic mixing — they are transparent.
The non-linear carries in modular addition are the ONLY escape.
ACT 3 — THE OOPS
For any file word W with a ZD partner V (i.e. W·V = 0 in T32/GF(2)):
— find the left null space of V (all δ s.t. δ·V = 0)
— replace W with W⊕δ
— the ZD relationship is preserved: (W⊕δ)·V = W·V ⊕ δ·V = 0⊕0 = 0
— the SHA-1 hash CHANGES (carries see the flip)
— but the T32-linear differential hash is ZERO
This δ is an 'algebraically transparent' bit-flip.
The space of such δ is the attack surface. Its dimension is the
number of free bits UDEO can navigate while staying in the ZD locus.
HONEST SCOPE
SHA-1 is already broken (SHAttered, 2017). This demonstrates WHY
algebraically, not a new exploit. The carry-closing step (what
SHAttered did computationally) is NOT implemented here.
