AdaOS built 7/19/2026 (Windows)

Just wanted to drop a quick note for anyone working on a Windows machine: I got AdaOS to build without any friction using Debian under WSL2. If you've been putting off setting up a local build environment on Windows, the process is actually super straightforward right now.

Environment

• Host OS: Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC (WSL2)
• Distro: Debian GNU/Linux
• Target: x64

Build Notes & Tips for WSL Users

• Dependencies: Standard required packages pulled cleanly via apt. No glibc version mismatches or missing build-essential quirks out of the box. However, there was a lot of cryptsetup errors trying to find /dev/sdc for some reason...
• Filesystem location matters: Make sure you clone and build directly inside the Linux native filesystem (e.g., ~/projects/adaos), NOT on a Windows-mounted drive (/mnt/c/). Building across the NTFS bridge will severely bottleneck your compile times and can trigger case-sensitivity or symlink errors.
• Performance: Compiled in ~15 minutes with 8 cores and 16GB RAM allocated to WSL.
