From 26ac942fee07b2b0107718da89c3786eefc6e7c2 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: hkonsti <45428767+hkonsti@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Mon, 19 Oct 2026 22:22:30 +0000 Subject: [PATCH 1/7] track every agent request by the task it was made for Agents start a task with a title and a goal before anything else, give its id with every call, and finish it when done, over MCP (start_task and finish_task) and through the agent pages. The activity log keeps each request's task and shows it, with a view of one task's requests. The seed fills a workspace with tasks, for any user given by SEED_EMAIL. --- packages/api/src/activity/route.test.ts | 61 ++++++ packages/api/src/activity/route.ts | 34 ++- packages/api/src/agent-side/feedback.test.ts | 23 ++- packages/api/src/agent-side/feedback.ts | 13 +- packages/api/src/agent-side/route.test.ts | 51 ++++- packages/api/src/agent-side/route.ts | 30 ++- packages/api/src/agent-side/tasks.test.ts | 103 ++++++++++ packages/api/src/agent-side/tasks.ts | 85 ++++++++ packages/api/src/agent-side/tools.test.ts | 25 ++- packages/api/src/agent-side/tools.ts | 29 ++- packages/api/src/mcp/route.test.ts | 85 ++++++-- packages/api/src/mcp/tools.ts | 100 +++++++-- packages/api/src/server/create-api-router.ts | 17 +- packages/db/package.json | 1 + .../v021_add_agent_tasks/migration.sql | 30 +++ packages/db/prisma/schema.prisma | 64 ++++-- packages/db/scripts/seed.ts | 87 +++++++- packages/db/src/audit.ts | 18 +- packages/db/src/feedback.ts | 2 + packages/db/src/task.ts | 93 +++++++++ packages/docs/content/agents/mcp.mdx | 26 ++- packages/map/scripts/crawl.ts | 17 +- packages/map/src/button-edges.ts | 6 +- packages/web/src/agent-loaders.ts | 31 ++- packages/web/src/client/agent-client.ts | 68 +++++- packages/web/src/client/agents-client.ts | 11 +- packages/web/src/client/schemas.ts | 15 ++ packages/web/src/components/agent-shell.tsx | 63 +++++- packages/web/src/components/agent-side.tsx | 10 +- .../web/src/components/audit-entry-dialog.tsx | 35 +++- .../web/src/components/audit-list.test.tsx | 28 ++- packages/web/src/components/audit-list.tsx | 17 +- packages/web/src/lib/agent-task.ts | 38 ++++ packages/web/src/lib/types.ts | 2 + packages/web/src/loaders.ts | 13 +- packages/web/src/pages/activity-page.tsx | 78 ++++++- packages/web/src/pages/agent-page.tsx | 4 +- .../src/pages/agent/agent-home-page.test.tsx | 56 +++-- .../pages/agent/agent-record-links.test.tsx | 13 +- .../web/src/pages/agent/agent-task-page.tsx | 193 ++++++++++++++++++ packages/web/src/pages/connection-page.tsx | 4 +- packages/web/src/router.tsx | 11 +- 42 files changed, 1509 insertions(+), 181 deletions(-) create mode 100644 packages/api/src/agent-side/tasks.test.ts create mode 100644 packages/api/src/agent-side/tasks.ts create mode 100644 packages/db/prisma/migrations/v021_add_agent_tasks/migration.sql create mode 100644 packages/db/src/task.ts create mode 100644 packages/web/src/lib/agent-task.ts create mode 100644 packages/web/src/pages/agent/agent-task-page.tsx diff --git a/packages/api/src/activity/route.test.ts b/packages/api/src/activity/route.test.ts index 41f17828..654e5b48 100644 --- a/packages/api/src/activity/route.test.ts +++ b/packages/api/src/activity/route.test.ts @@ -9,6 +9,10 @@ const countAuditEntriesByAction = mock();
