Environment
OS: macOS 14.5
DAW: Cubase Pro 14
plugdata-fx: v0.9.3
Description
The insert-effect bypass function in Cubase does not appear to work correctly with plugdata-fx.
When plugdata-fx is bypassed from Cubase, the audio output becomes silent instead of passing through the unprocessed input signal.
Steps to reproduce
Insert plugdata-fx as an audio insert effect in Cubase.
In plugdata, connect:
adc~ → dac~
Confirm that audio is being output normally.
Enable the insert-effect bypass button for plugdata-fx in Cubase.
Expected behavior
Cubase should bypass plugdata-fx and output the original, unprocessed audio signal.
Actual behavior
The audio output becomes silent while the effect is bypassed.
Audio output resumes when either:
the bypass is disabled, or
plugdata-fx is removed from the insert slot.
