Overview
Sub-issues attached to this issue relate to automating various aspects of the Queue Bot. Automating a lot of the Queue Bot will make it very low maintenance for TAs.
Things we might want to automate include:
- Queue opening/closing
- Notifications to TAs and students to remind about passoff days
- Prioritizing the next online/passoff students depending on if it's a passoff day and the status of the TA.
Whether these are useful things to automate remains a question for the TAs using the queue. The utility of their automation will become clear with use - thus, for any non-glaring issues, I suggest that we hold off on development focused on automation until we have more feedback from TAs about whether certain automatic features would be useful.
