From 251cca3f2e76a6ec9492431aa785ff16d6c11744 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: willtheorangeguy <18339050+willtheorangeguy@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Fri, 14 Aug 2026 14:00:15 -0600 Subject: [PATCH] chore(docs): normalise licensing and consolidate health files Wave 1 of the documentation standardisation rollout. Mechanical only -- no prose was rewritten, and no file outside the set below was touched. - Licence body and copyright line normalised to the canonical text in willtheorangeguy/.github/licenses, replacing 28 divergent variants. Repositories deliberately on GPL-3.0, Apache-2.0, BSD-2 or an upstream copyright were left alone. - Extensionless LICENSE renamed to LICENSE.md for a single convention. - CONTENT_LICENSE.md added where a repository carries both code and content, so the two are licensed separately instead of one blanket grant covering material that was not ours to license. - Duplicated CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md, CONTRIBUTING.md and SECURITY.md removed from public repositories, which inherit them from the org-level .github repository. Private repositories keep their own copies, since org defaults do not reach them. - README links to those files rewritten to absolute .github URLs in the same commit as the deletion, so no link is ever left dangling. The underlying words are the work of the speakers and rights holders of those recordings. Nothing here transfers, grants, or relicenses any right in that material, and no claim of ownership over it is made or implied. + +Transcription introduces errors. Nothing in this repository should be treated as an authoritative record of what was said. Where accuracy matters, go to the original recording — linked in the [README](README.md). + +## Use + +This archive exists for **search, accessibility, citation, and research**. Those are the uses it is offered for. + +If you intend to republish, redistribute, or build a product on this text, that permission has to come from the rights holders of the original recordings, not from this repository. Quoting with attribution to the original work is ordinary practice and is not affected by this notice. + +## Requests for Removal + +If you hold rights in the source material and would like this transcript amended or taken down, open an issue or contact the repository owner. Requests will be honoured — no argument, no delay. + +## Why This File Exists + +An earlier version of this repository applied a blanket MIT licence to everything in it. That was wrong: MIT is a grant, and these words were never ours to grant. This notice replaces that claim with an accurate one. diff --git a/LICENSE.md b/LICENSE.md index 978dd2f..fef2957 100644 --- a/LICENSE.md +++ b/LICENSE.md @@ -1,9 +1,9 @@ # MIT License -Code copyright © 2026 willtheorangeguy +Copyright © 2026 willtheorangeguy -Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the “Software”), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: +Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software. -THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.
