Senior Software Engineer · TypeScript · React · Web Components · XState · Node.js 8+ years building production web apps, 7 of them at Availity. Sarasota, FL · open to remote or hybrid roles.
I care about software that can still be understood, changed, and trusted a year after it ships. Most of my work sits where state management meets application architecture: state machines and statecharts, the actor model, and hexagonal (ports-and-adapters) design.
An open-source TypeScript library for building UIs as web components driven by headless state cores, with XState, Redux, and MobX adapters. v3 (in beta) brings:
- a custom JSX renderer with keyed diffing and a ref lifecycle
- React bindings (
igniteReact, useIgnite) so the same core drives a React app or a plain custom element - an accessibility-first component catalog, in development, designed to work across web, CLI, and MCP
- dev/prod export-condition builds and per-entry bundle-size budgets enforced in CI
On the roadmap for v3 stable: imperative hosts (canvas, audio, three.js), SSR with declarative shadow DOM, and agent-ready tooling so AI agents can drive an app through the same typed commands as its UI (WebMCP).
A personal-finance app that answers one question: "Am I okay until payday?" Built on ignite-element v3 with a pure TypeScript domain behind ports and adapters. The LLM generates at the edge while a typed decision model keeps inputs and outputs deterministic, and AI features stay off until the user opts in.
I work with a team of AI coding agents behind review gates: every change is specified, reviewed, and checked against tests, accessibility, and bundle budgets before it lands.
