Database Configuration

The application connects to MySQL using the following default settings from dbConnection.php:

$ServerName = "localhost";
$userName = "root";
$Password = "";
$db = "elearn";

This means the database name should be elearn and the MySQL user should be root with no password in a local development environment.

Setup Instructions

  1. Install XAMPP, WAMP, or LAMP.
  2. Start Apache and MySQL.
  3. Import the SQL file from Database/elearn.sql into your MySQL database.
  4. Place the project folder inside the web server root (for example, htdocs in XAMPP).
  5. Access the project in the browser:
http://localhost/eLearning/

If your project folder has a different name, replace eLearning with the folder name you used.

Notes

  • The project currently uses a local development database setup.
  • For production deployment, you should update database credentials and secure login/session handling.
  • The database schema includes tables such as student, teacher, course, lesson, payment, feedback, and related records.

License

This project does not currently include a license file. If you plan to share or deploy it publicly, it is recommended to add an appropriate open-source license.

Author
