LiveConnect is an Android application for real-time location sharing, social connections, communication, safety alerts, travel tracking, geofencing, and AI-assisted interaction.

The application combines native Android development with Kotlin, Supabase, Google Maps, Room Database, Android Location Services, and Gemini AI.

🚀 Getting Started

1. Clone the Repository

git clone https://github.com/Ashish45188/LiveConnect.git

2. Open the Project

Open the cloned project in Android Studio.

3. Configure API Keys

The repository does not contain real API keys or sensitive credentials.

Configure the required services locally.

Supabase

Do not commit real API keys or credentials to GitHub.

4. Sync Gradle

Allow Android Studio to synchronize the Gradle project and download the required dependencies.

5. Connect an Android Device

Connect a physical Android device with USB debugging enabled or start an Android emulator.

6. Run the Application

Build and run the application using Android Studio.

📍 Location Tracking

LiveConnect uses Android location services for location-based functionality.

Location features include:

• Real-time location sharing
• Friend location visibility
• Travel tracking

• Map-based location visualization

Location permissions must be granted by the user for location-dependent features to work.

💾 Local Database

LiveConnect uses Room Database for local data storage.

Local data models include:

• Geofence information

• Travel points
• Synchronization data

The local database allows the application to maintain data locally while supporting cloud synchronization.

☁️ Supabase Integration

Supabase is used for cloud data synchronization.

The application includes a dedicated synchronization layer for communicating with Supabase and synchronizing application data.

Supabase configuration is loaded through BuildConfig and local configuration instead of storing credentials directly in source code.

🤖 Gemini AI

LiveConnect integrates Google Gemini AI to provide an AI assistant experience inside the application.

The Gemini API key is loaded through local configuration and is not intended to be committed to the public repository.

🗺️ Google Maps

Google Maps is integrated for location visualization and map-based features.

The Maps API key is loaded through local configuration:

MAPS_API_KEY

For security, the actual API key should never be committed to GitHub.

🚨 SOS & Safety

LiveConnect includes SOS and safety-related functionality designed to help users share location information during emergency situations.

The application supports:

• SOS alerts
• Location information associated with alerts
• Geofence-based functionality
• Emergency-related location visibility

👥 Friends & Social Connections

Users can manage connections and interact with friends through the application.

Social functionality includes:

• Friend management
• Friend location visibility
• Chat
• Real-time data synchronization

🧭 Travel Timeline

The application maintains travel-related location information using locally stored travel points and synchronization with the cloud backend.

This allows location history and travel information to be represented through the application's timeline features.

🔐 Security

Sensitive configuration files are excluded from version control.

The project ignores files such as:

Never commit:

• API keys
• Passwords
• Private keys
• Release signing credentials
