Active-Condensate-Propulsion

This project allows determining the steady-state velocity of self-propelling condensates in a dry setting (that is, neglecting hydrodynamics). It is based on a self-consistent theory which is applied semi-analytically.

The files in the folder phase_field_simulations are based on Legacy FEniCS 2019.2; phase_field_simulations/self_propulsion_instability.zip is taken from the related publication archived at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7347561.

This code accompanies the following preprint and publication:

Self-consistent sharp interface theory of active condensate dynamics, Andriy Goychuk*+, Leonardo Demarchi*, Ivan Maryshev, and Erwin Frey+, arXiv (2024)

Self-consistent sharp interface theory of active condensate dynamics, Andriy Goychuk*+, Leonardo Demarchi*, Ivan Maryshev, and Erwin Frey+, Phys. Rev. Research (2024)

The final published version was archived on Zenodo (2024)

About

This project studies the dynamics of enzymatic condensates, which facilitate the reversible transformation of substrate into product.
