File-Organiser is like having a personal assistant whose only job is to keep your files neat. It observes folders you choose (like Downloads, Desktop, or Documents) and moves files into folders you create based on the rules you define.

Once you've downloaded the file, simply double-click it to run File-Organiser. Windows might ask you for permission to run the app - just click "Yes" or "Run" when prompted. That's normal for new software.
When the app opens for the first time, you'll see a clean, simple window. Look for the button that says something like "Add Folder" or "Monitor Folder" (it might have a ➕ icon). Click it and select the folders you want to organize. Here are some good starting points:
- Your Downloads folder
- Your Desktop
- Your Documents folder
Now for the fun part - teaching File-Organiser what to do. Click the "Add Rule" or "New Rule" button. You'll see these options:

At first, tags might seem unnecessary. But they're actually super helpful for finding things later. Here's how they work:
When File-Organiser sorts a file with a tag, it adds that tag to the file's properties. Later, when you search for "ImportantDocs" in Windows Search or File Explorer, every file you tagged will magically appear together - even if they're in different folders.
Think of tags like sticky notes on your files. You can tag an invoice as "Expense2025" or a photo as "Vacation". Future you will thank present you for this little touch.
Everyone organizes differently. That's why File-Organiser is built to be flexible. Here are some ways you can tweak it:

File-Organiser is designed to run smoothly on most modern Windows computers. Here's what you'll need:

- Storage: 50 MB of free disk space for the app itself
- Display: A screen resolution of 1024x768 or higher

The app runs quietly in your system tray (the small area near the clock on your taskbar), using minimal resources so it won't slow down your computer.
File-Organiser doesn't move a file it should.
Double-check that your rule uses the exact file extension (including the dot, like .pdf not pdf). Also make sure the destination folder actually exists - if it doesn't, the app will skip the file. The app should create folders automatically, but if it doesn't, create the folder manually.
The app won't start watching.
Make sure you've picked at least one folder to monitor and created at least one rule. The "Start" button stays greyed out until you've done both.
Windows says "Unknown Publisher" when I run it.
This is normal for indie apps. Click "More Info" and then "Run Anyway". Your computer is just being cautious because the app is new to it.
How do I know it's working?
Look for File-Organiser's icon in your system tray (bottom right corner of your screen). While it's active, a small green indicator or animation shows it's watching your folders.

jpg,jpeg,png,gifall into one rule for images. Just separate them with commas in the extension box. -
