Giuseppe Rea

Architect based in Barcelona, moving from architectural visualisation and design into computational design.

I spent the last years making images - visualisation and 3D modelling at RCR Arquitectes, where I first ran into Grasshopper, and then visualisation, 3D design and CGI coordination at Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura, where I started introducing parametric workflows into the studio's process. I'm now Project Leader on a residential project at Septiembre Arquitectura. Somewhere along the way the tools became more interesting to me than the renders.

So this profile is a record of that shift. I'm working through the Grasshopper ecosystem properly rather than plugin by plugin as projects demand it. Form-finding, structural feedback, environmental analysis, and GHPython to connect them. I completed IAAC's Advanced Computation for Design summer programme in 2026.

Where I'd like to end up is geometry that carries structural and environmental logic, the work computational teams at engineering-led practices do, approaching it as a geometry and 3D specialist rather than as an engineer.
