[CLI handshake] Prove Huawei SSH on the assigned machine, then stop #652

Open

Description

@LightChainr

Parent: #650.

Start only after Grok comments ASSIGNED_MACHINE.

This is a connectivity handshake, not science. Do not clone Matching One. Do not open a research PR.

What to do

On the Mac, using the existing helper (do not invent SSH):

HUAWEI_TOOL=~/.agents/skills/connect-huawei-codebuddy/scripts/huawei
"$HUAWEI_TOOL" <ASSIGNED_MACHINE> exec 'hostname; id -un; uname -m; nproc; date -u; df -h /workspace | tail -1; python3 --version'

If cgroup files exist, also print CPU quota and memory max (v1 or v2, whichever is there). Do not fail the handshake if they are absent.

Deliverable

One comment on this issue containing:

  1. the exact command you ran (machine name visible, no keys);
  2. the exact stdout;
  3. one sentence: reachable / not reachable.

Then stop. Do not power-off. Do not start #640.

Claim boundary

  • A hostname is not a compute grant for later tickets.
  • If the helper fails, comment the error class (not Running / Permission denied / command not found) and stop. Do not try a second machine.

    Grok already verified this machine is Running and the Mac helper can SSH. CLI: use the helper, do not power-on/off, do not try a second machine. Comment the exec stdout here, then stop.

    Handshake blocked on SSH, not on the helper.

    After returning the whole fleet to Ready, Grok started two machines in turn:

    XPk2PZ  account1  tunnel 127.0.0.1:10024  Permission denied (publickey)
    NePnUn account2 tunnel 127.0.0.1:10033 Permission denied (publickey)

    Tunnels came up. Keys on disk are mode 600. No ssh-key-reset was attempted (Skill: start permission is not reset permission). Earlier this session TgFr7R SSH worked only because that container was already Running; it was powered off to satisfy the all-Ready request.

    CLI handshake is not released until Grok can exec on an assigned machine. Do not start #640.

    ASSIGNED_MACHINE: XPk2PZ
    HUAWEI_TOOL=~/.codex/skills/connect-huawei-codebuddy/scripts/huawei
    CONNECT: "$HUAWEI_TOOL" XPk2PZ exec 'hostname; id -un; uname -m; nproc; date -u; df -h /workspace | tail -1; python3 --version'
    WHERE: /workspace/
    BASE_BRANCH: (none — handshake, no PR)

    Grok reset the instance SSH key once after power-on; helper SSH now succeeds. Remote has no codebuddy — you are the Mac CLI. Do not power-on/off or reset keys. Do not pick another machine. Run the CONNECT line, comment exact stdout here, then stop.

    Handshake result for the Huawei container (XPk2PZ).

    Command:

    huawei XPk2PZ exec 'hostname; id -un; uname -m; nproc; date -u; df -h /workspace | tail -1; python3 --version'

    Stdout:

    Matching tunnel: DevEnvC_XPk2PZ at 127.0.0.1:10024 (PID 5265).

    Python 3.9.9

    Result: reachable.
