called mods.

Most mods will require the Mio Modding Api which you can find at https://github.com/MIO-Modding/mio-modding-api

Most mods will come in the form of a zip file, Please extract that zip file as a folder into your mods folder, DO NOT EXTRACT THE MODS FILES INTO THE MODS FOLDER DIRECTLY
The correct folder path to mod files would be MIO/mods/<MODNAME>/<MODFILES> NOT MIO/mods/<MODFILES>

As an example, here is roughly how the filestructure for
installing the Mio Mod Loader, Mio Modding Api, and an
Example Mod ignoring most files native to the MIO install.

------- STEPS ON LINUX ------- (Thanks to @samwell_ii on Discord for these instructions)
1. Follow all instructions for the Windows install
2. Set the launch options in steam to
```
Linux Specific Install Instructions:
There are two extra steps to installing the mod loader on
a Linux system.
First, from the Steam Library page for MIO select
(gear icon) > Properties
and put the following into the Launch Options line:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp.dll=n,b" %command%
```
3. Install `dotnet8` through Protontricks
This ensures that the custom winhttp.dll file included with
the modloader is actually used when MIO is run.

Secondly, it is necessary to add the missing
dotnet8 dependencies to the virtual environment used by
Proton. The simplest way to do this is to use Protontricks,
a tool for modifying the wineprefix (environment) used by Proton.

To do this first install Protontricks as outlined at
https://github.com/Matoking/protontricks#usage.
With Protontricks installed you may install the dotnet
dependency directly by running:

`protontricks 1672810 dotnet8`

Alternatively, you may use the graphical interface by running
Protontricks without any arguments, then selecting
MIO: Memories in Orbit: 1672810 >
Select the default wineprefix >
Install a Windows DLL or component >
check the checkbox by dotnet8
Once the installation is complete and you are back to
the menu you selected Install a Windows DLL or component from
you may click cancel or close the program.
