The "scan only what needs to be scanned instead of all files" checked off as that is what the script does. It reports how many files were found (in the directory tree given) Number A, then it reports how many that has been filtered to Number B.
User was incorrectly assuming Number A was Number B (which is reported on the following line)
These are essentially old debugging statements so I could check the correct number of changed files were identified in a branch (A) and that the file-type filters subsequently reduced that to the correct number (B)
--fullcheck just bypasses the call to a CMS and runs glob in the directory tree to get a list of ALL files. In this instance that is what it is reporting as A.
