Description
Asteroids are used in the game for mining and quests.
There are eight pre-made asteroids that are placed randomly around the solar system. This means that asteroids only have eight forms, along with all of its mining points and its relay. Using pre-made asteroids make the game arcade-like: all mining points are always at the same place for each asteroid.
Mining is also arecade-like, since you mine crystals of ore off the surface of the asteroid. You cannot actually mine the asteroid itself.
Creating new asteroids is an interesting way to expand the game. Since asteroids in some ways are small celestial objects, they can emulate "planets" in a world where it is impossible to land on planets, opening up many possibilites. Procedural generation expands this.
Proposal
Create a new solution for mining where asteroids are procedurally generated, inspired by Minecraft, Space Engineers and No Mans Sky. You won't mine the ores crystals themselves, but excavate chunks of the asteroid itself. Concretely how must be discussed.
