FoxPloitU Updater is an English-language Aroma setup manager and updater for Wii U. It runs as a WUHB homebrew app, shows the available official Aroma packages, downloads the selected components, validates every extracted file against the package manifest's SHA-1 value, and then applies the update to the Wii U SD card.
FoxPloitU Updater is Aroma-only. It does not install, migrate, remove, or modify Tiramisu, firmware, titles, tickets, games, or internal NAND content.
| Feature | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Package source | Uses the official Aroma package service at https://aroma.foryour.cafe/. |
| SD destination | Writes only to the normal Wii U SD-card layout under sd:/wiiu/. |
| File integrity | Checks the SHA-1 of every extracted payload against the package-manifest value before the temporary file is written. |
| Safe update flow | Downloads and extracts to *.update.temp files first; finalization happens only after the selected files finish successfully. |
| User confirmation | The on-console menu shows selected packages and asks for confirmation before writing changes. |
| Scope | Aroma environment and approved official Aroma packages only. |
Download the latest FoxPloitU-Updater.wuhb from the Releases page. Copy it to:
sd:/wiiu/apps/FoxPloitU-Updater.wuhb
Start FoxPloitU Updater from the Wii U Menu while booted into Aroma. Use the GamePad to review available packages, select the required items, and confirm the update. The application returns to the Wii U Menu after a successful update.
Your SD card must be formatted as FAT32, and the standard wiiu directory must be at its root. See the official Aroma SD preparation guide for the supported SD layout.
The repository also includes a separate, static Wii U Browser launcher in docs/. Once GitHub Pages is enabled for the master branch and /docs directory, open:
https://slabylol.github.io/FoxPloitU/
The web stage temporarily launches the FoxPloitU Updater RPX hosted beside it. It is limited to the browser target range stated on the page and is separate from the Aroma-only installer logic. The payload target URLs are compiled into the payload and point only to the FoxPloitU GitHub Pages host.
FoxPloitU Updater uses the devkitPro Wii U Toolchain (wut) together with the same library family used by the official Aroma updater.
For a local build, install the required devkitPro packages (wut, wums, wiiu-curl, mocha, and rpxloader) and run:
makeThe output is FoxPloitU-Updater.wuhb and FoxPloitU-Updater.rpx.
FoxPloitU Updater accepts package data only from the official Aroma service over HTTPS. It does not blindly unpack a ZIP archive: it locates the manifest-declared member, verifies the extracted file's SHA-1 against the expected manifest value, writes it as a temporary file, and lets the existing finalization stage replace the target only when the set succeeds. A mismatch stops the update and reports an integrity error.
The SHA-1 value is used because it is the existing integrity field published by the upstream Aroma package service. It validates transfer and archive-member integrity; users should still download FoxPloitU only from this repository's release page.
The static browser-launch chain is built from the open-source dumpling-app/dumpling-launcher structure and its upstream components: JsTypeHax, JsTypeHax_payload, wiiuhaxx_common, and CustomRPXLoader. The docs/ content retains the applicable upstream licensing terms and notices. FoxPloitU branding, the static host configuration, and the final RPX target are project-specific.
FoxPloitU Updater is a branded, Aroma-only derivative of the open-source AromaUpdater project by Maschell. It preserves the upstream GPL-3.0-or-later licensing terms, retains the upstream source notices, and includes the full license in LICENSE.
The FoxPloitU icon is an original fox-and-circuit emblem created for this project. Aroma and its package service remain the work of their respective upstream maintainers.
