Summary

Adds behaviour-level JUnit/Mockito/MockBukkit tests across every Archaeo package, JaCoCo reporting in the build and CI, and an opt-in pack-api-tests profile that runs adapter contract tests against locally supplied ItemsAdder/MMOItems jars. No test exists only to raise coverage, and nothing is excluded from coverage.

Build Tests Failures / skips Lines Branches
main before 488 0 / 0 94.86% 83.89%
Default clean verify 684 0 / 0 98.99% 98.55%
-Ppack-api-tests clean verify 700 0 / 0 99.87% 99.60%

Bugs fixed (each with a regression test)

  • A failed /archaeo reload emptied the live catalogues; reload is now all-or-nothing.
  • A camp kit held only in the off hand showed its ghost but could not plant a camp.
  • ItemsAdder ids such as glow:stone were parsed as vanilla materials.
  • Studied finds lost their dossier notes when their artifact left the catalogue.
  • Renaming a site after a restart blanked filed drawings not yet rebound.
  • Confirming a sketch signature could sign a held vanilla map instead.
  • Spigot's RegistryAware biome keys could throw for unregistered biomes in the ruin spawner.
  • Smaller fixes: stale camp-menu authority, relocations finishing after closure, outline timers removing their replacement, sketch maps keeping an old renderer, paused brushes overwriting shared progress, MMOItems binding the wrong getItem overload.

Three regressions introduced by dead-code removal were caught in review and fixed, each with a test that fails when the fix is reverted:

  • changing world mid camp-move no longer reads/loads chunks in the destination world;
  • a lab window cancelled by another plugin no longer leaves that player's cabinet lab dead until restart;
  • spending the last main-hand kit no longer replays the click from an off-hand kit.

PR #20 follow-up

Rebased onto #20 and added tests for its sketch autosave code: crash recovery from a newer checkpoint, legacy maps without a stored revision, corrupt and wrong-size checkpoints, unwritable/undeletable autosave folders, no needless checkpoint writes, the interpolated held eraser and its grace window, and the renderer's cursor outline. Removed three guards whose callers already guarantee the condition (erase null session, offline check in autosaveOpenSessions, MapMeta check in metaRevision).

Review follow-ups

  • SketchService.retitle keeps its null-site guard: a signed sketch whose dossier was purged would otherwise throw on every hydrate and stall the sketch tick for everyone.
  • Same-click de-duplication for camp kits and wool cycling keys on Bukkit.getCurrentTick() instead of World#getFullTime(), which stands still when doDaylightCycle is off.
  • Message cooldowns read an injectable millisecond clock, so their tests step past the cooldown instead of sleeping (about 10 s saved per build).
  • BuriedFind.setConservation marks an unsettled find LOST at zero, matching refreshConservation, so zero conservation always means LOST.
  • The sketch autosave failure tests inject faults root cannot bypass (a file on the folder's name, a non-empty directory on the checkpoint's name), so they pass without depending on the build user.

Not covered (by design)

Offline-mid-action guards that keep one bad entry from breaking the tick, compiler-generated enum-switch branches, datapack-only block-tag paths, fast paths no test can observe, malformed-data guards, and the AtomicMoveNotSupportedException fallback. Details and open decisions go in a follow-up issue.

Test plan

  • mvn -o clean verify: 684 tests, 0 failures, 0 skips
  • mvn -o -Ppack-api-tests -Ditemsadder.jar=… -Dmmoitems.jar=… -Dmythiclib.jar=… -Dfastnbt.jar=… clean verify: 700 tests, 0 failures, 0 skips
  • Each bug-fix test fails with its fix reverted
  • CI green

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Prevented duplicate camp-kit interactions when the same click is received through both hands, while supporting kits held off-hand.
    • Camp find boards now show known conservation-condition details across find states.
    • Camp placement previews and builds now orient directional pieces to face the camp.
  • Improvements
    • Ruin command tab completion now offers site-query suggestions with fewer arguments.
    • Catalog reloads retain previously loaded catalog data if new catalog parsing fails.

Priority: ➖ Normal

Estimated code review effort: 5 (Critical) | ~120 minutes

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 41307

Sketches of erased sites can interrupt the sketch loop, and an off-hand camp-kit placement can be silently missed when daylight cycling is disabled. Resolve or explicitly accept these risks before merging.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 41307

Normal cabinet interactions still check the held artifact and reject blank drawings before accepting them. Registration now relies on that earlier check rather than checking the drawing again when it is filed. There is no demonstrated way for a player to bypass the earlier check, but the changed state boundary merits review.

Retained concerns

  • Low · security · inferred: Drawing registration no longer rechecks that a signed sketch contains ink before binding it to a find and persisting field-sketch state. Normal insertion paths enforce the condition, so exploitation depends on an unverified alternate way to populate or alter the cabinet slot.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The identified drawing-integrity question is scoped to a cabinet transaction and its resolved find and site record. The inspected path grants no server, network, secret, or deployment authority.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — If a signed blank sketch can reach the cabinet slot without the observed insertion checks, registration would bind it and mark the find sketched. The inspected player click, shift-deposit, and drag handling does not demonstrate that prerequisite.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The registration boundary rechecks the player's held recovered-find identity before changing the record. Drawing insertion checks both signature and ink; registration checks signature and rejects a drawing bound to another find.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — A site-write exception leaves the site queued for retry, but registration has no local rollback for earlier sketch and in-memory find mutations. The inspected base comparison does not establish this sequence as newly introduced by the PR.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Revalidate ink at the registration commit boundary, even when current insertion paths already enforce it, so an alternate inventory producer cannot silently change the filing invariant.

270-271: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | 💤 Low value

Fix the stale Javadoc on stainPool.

The Javadoc says the pool is never empty because config keeps at least one stain. The method does not rely on that. Lines 282-284 still add lab.stains().get(0) when no material stain resolves. absentMaterialStainsUseFirstConfiguredStain tests this fallback. The line-range summary says the fallback was removed, but the code still contains it. Change the Javadoc to describe the fallback. Keep the code as it is.

350-360: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

Replace the wall-clock sleep with an injectable clock.

lockWarningRepeatsOnlyAfterTheCooldown calls Thread.sleep(3100). The margin over the 3-second cooldown is only 100 ms. This test adds more than 3 seconds to every build. It can also fail on a loaded CI runner if the cooldown uses a different time source or rounds differently. Inject a LongSupplier or Clock into PrismListener for the warning throttle. Then advance that clock in the test.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Preserve the zero-conservation guard or update setConservation.

applyWound correctly changes a find to LOST through refreshConservation. However, setConservation(0) only clamps the value and leaves the state unchanged. A DISCOVERED find can therefore remain DISCOVERED with zero conservation, then reach RecoverService and be counted as recovered.

🐛 Suggested fix
 public void setConservation(int conservation) {
     this.conservation = Math.max(0, Math.min(100, conservation));
+    if (this.conservation <= 0 && state != FindState.RECOVERED && state != FindState.LOST) {
+        state = FindState.LOST;

Adds JUnit, Mockito and MockBukkit tests across every package, with JaCoCo
reporting in the build and CI. The tests assert gameplay, player-facing text,
data preservation and failure handling; none exist only to raise coverage.
An opt-in pack-api-tests profile runs adapter contract tests against locally
supplied ItemsAdder and MMOItems jars.

Fixes found by the tests:
- a failed /archaeo reload emptied the live catalogues; reload is now atomic
- an off-hand camp kit showed its ghost but could not plant a camp
- ItemsAdder ids such as glow:stone were parsed as vanilla materials
- studied finds lost their dossier notes when the artifact left the catalogue
- renaming a site after a restart blanked filed drawings not yet rebound
- confirming a sketch signature could sign a held vanilla map instead
- Spigot's RegistryAware biome keys could throw for unregistered biomes
- stale camp-menu authority, relocations finishing after closure, outline
  timers removing their replacement, sketch maps keeping an old renderer,
  paused brushes overwriting shared progress, and MMOItems binding the wrong
  getItem overload

Removes proven dead code: redundant guards whose callers already guarantee
the condition, unused helpers and a legacy pick.tools fallback that could no
longer run.

@coderabbitai Outside-diff finding on RecoverService.java:340-347 (zero conservation): addressed in 413074c. No production path calls setConservation: loading and wounds both go through refreshConservation, which already marks LOST. To make the invariant hold for every setter, BuriedFind.setConservation now marks an unsettled find LOST at zero, and BuriedFindTest.clampsConservationAndHandlesEmptyShapes asserts this for both DISCOVERED and RECOVERED finds.

@ryanbarlow97, the additional inspection confirms the finding is addressed. refreshConservation() marks an unsettled find LOST at zero. setConservation() now does the same, while preserving the RECOVERED state. The test asserts both setter cases.

Learning: In `src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/archaeo/model/BuriedFind.java`, zero conservation marks an unsettled `BuriedFind` as `FindState.LOST`, whether conservation is set with `setConservation()` or recalculated with `refreshConservation()`. A find already in `FindState.RECOVERED` retains that state at zero conservation. `src/main/java/net/tfminecraft/archaeo/site/SiteRepository.java` uses `setBuriedConservation()` or `refreshConservation()` when loading finds, and wound handling calls `refreshConservation()`.
