⚡ Bolt: Parallelize file formatting using Rayon - #196
Tcode-Motion wants to merge 1 commit into
Conversation
- Use `rayon::prelude::*` to iterate over `files_to_format` in parallel using `par_iter().for_each(...)`. - Use `std::sync::atomic::AtomicUsize` for thread-safe incrementing of `formatted_count`. - Add `rayon` as a dependency in `cli/Cargo.toml`. 💡 What: Replaced the synchronous loop in
cli/src/commands/fmt.rswithrayon'spar_iter().for_each()to format files in parallel. Usedstd::sync::atomic::AtomicUsizefor thread-safe counting. Addedrayonas a dependency.🎯 Why: Sequential file reading, formatting, and writing is a typical I/O and CPU bottleneck. Parallelizing this workload speeds up formatting for large directories.
📊 Impact: Speeds up the formatting process significantly by leveraging all available CPU cores.
