what is the definition of the trace file? #1

hello, to generate the CDG from CFG,we need three files,namely cfg.dot,branchs.txt and trace.txt,but if tarce.txt only contain one path,the CDG generated maybe not completed.So what the definition of the trace file?Thank you.
