Why

Creators pick a launchpad by what they take home, and the two launchpads we compete with pay creators in the quote asset:

  • o1: the swap fee is "1% of the paired-asset amount", half of it to the creator, and "fees are always denominated in the selected paired asset": an ETH market charges ETH, a USDC market charges USDC (o1 docs: fees and referrals).
  • Bankr: fees accrue in both the launched token and the quote token by default, but creators "can opt into quote-only fees to receive all earnings in the quote token instead", a choice fixed at launch (Bankr docs: token launching overview).

Here the creator fee is the pool's LP fee, so every sell pays the creator in their own token. That is the worse deal: it has to be sold to be worth anything, selling it is a visible signal against the token, and it's hard to count. Creators who care about fee revenue have been going elsewhere for that reason.

This adds the same option, without touching what exists: a second suite whose hook charges the creator fee in the quote asset on buys and sells, with LP fee 0, chosen per launch and fixed at launch, as on Bankr. The original factory, locker and every live pool are unchanged, and nothing is enabled until the contracts are deployed and configured. The settlement design follows o1's MIT-licensed LaunchHook and FeeEscrow, credited in contracts/docs/QUOTE_FEES.md.

What

QuoteLaunchFactory deploys an ownerless LaunchLocker, a QuoteFeeVault and a QuoteFeeHook atomically. The hook accrues the fee as PoolManager claims to the vault; recipients are fixed at launch, and collect and claim work as on the locker. Full fills are required in every direction, so the fee is never charged on an unfilled amount and a swap that fills nothing can't move the price out of range.

The app runs both suites side by side: per-suite indexer cursors, hook and core swap pairing so volumes use the trader's amounts, a fee-asset choice on the launch form that only appears where the quote suite is enabled, and fee panels and the dashboard that collect from the vault. The branch includes upstream main through c14aae7, including the latest stock registry and holdings changes. The dashboard merge conflict is resolved while preserving suite-aware fee collection. Both suites retain the Robinhood selector-slicing fix. Quote-only swaps preserve EntryPoint-backed trader attribution, season points use the recorded quote fee, and fee-history repair matches events to their emitting contract.

Deploying

The new contracts are not deployed, deployment addresses are unset, and quote-only launches are disabled by default. The PostgreSQL service added to CI is disposable; production continues using the existing database. Apply app/db/schema.sql before deploying the app. Contract deployment and enablement steps are in contracts/docs/QUOTE_FEES.md.

Review fixes — 14 October 2026

  • Failed suite backfill: initialize all configured suite cursors and publish their minimum before head or range RPC reads. A failed first backfill leaves season computation waiting. Regressions cover head, legacy-range and quote-range failures, successful retries, and the real PostgreSQL case where a legacy cursor at 2000 must not hide a quote cursor at zero.
  • Trading price impact: pass the creator trading fee separately to normal quotes and sell-all estimates. The actual quote-only pool key retains LP fee zero. The review's 3% fee example now shows 13% impact instead of 15.61%; tests cover buys, sells, zero fees and legacy records.
  • Merged current upstream main through c14aae7 and resolved the dashboard conflict.

Verification

Checks on the updated branch (14 October 2026):

  • App lint, type checking and production build passed. 1,201 app tests passed, with ten optional live checks skipped.
  • Real PostgreSQL 16 integration passed: schema and receipt replay, smart-wallet attribution, suite isolation, paid earnings, failed first backfill and retry, cursor migration, and orphan-event repair.
  • Ordinary Foundry: 90 tests passed, 25 skipped, including all 31 quote-fee tests. Deployed-source lock and Arc source-comparison checks passed.
  • Upstream guard/workflow unit tests: 161 passed.
  • The PR guard still blocks the existing .github/workflows/ci.yml additions under ci-config. The repository's documented admin exception is required to retain these CI checks; the guard itself is unchanged.

Contract source is unchanged by these app fixes. The payout gas fix passed ten live Base/Robinhood quote-fee fork tests on 10 October. Live forks were not re-run for this app update. Arc/B20 native-runtime validation after the payout gas fix remains a deployment gate. Earlier test and deployment-simulation results, plus the B20 runtime provenance limitation, are recorded in contracts/docs/QUOTE_FEES.md.

📝 Walkthrough

This change adds an optional quote-only creator-fee launch suite alongside the existing suite. It adds contracts for fee collection and claims, and updates the app, database, and indexer to handle suite-specific launch and fee data.

Changes: Quote-only creator fee suite

Layer / File(s) Summary
Quote-fee contracts and deployment
contracts/src/Quote*.sol, contracts/script/DeployQuoteLaunchFactory.s.sol, contracts/test/QuoteFees*.t.sol, contracts/docs/QUOTE_FEES.md, docs/quote-only-fees-plan.md, .github/workflows/ci.yml
The factory, hook, and vault implement quote-fee launches, swap fee accrual, collection, and claims. The deployment script and tests cover contract and fork scenarios. Documentation describes the suite, deployment, and verification. CI adds contract and app indexer checks.
Suite configuration and launch flow
app/.env.example, app/src/lib/launchpad/*, app/src/components/launchpad/LaunchForm.tsx, app/src/components/launchpad/LaunchFeeSettings.tsx, app/src/components/launchpad/LaunchReceipt.tsx, app/src/components/launchpad/launch-form.test.ts, app/src/components/launchpad/launch-fees.test.ts, README.md, contracts/docs/LAUNCHPAD.md, app/src/app/agents/page.tsx, app/src/app/llms.txt/route.ts, app/src/app/rules/page.tsx
The app adds per-chain quote deployment settings and suite helpers. The launch form selects a suite, uses its factory ABI and fee field, parses its launch event, and builds the first-buy pool key from launch parameters.
Suite-aware indexing and quote analytics
app/db/schema.sql, app/src/lib/launchpad/indexer.ts, app/src/lib/launchpad/quote-swaps.ts, app/src/lib/launchpad/quote-swaps.test.ts, app/src/lib/launchpad/queries.ts, app/scripts/quote-indexer-check.mts, app/scripts/rebuild-launch-totals.sql, app/src/lib/points/*
The schema stores suite identity, fee details, trader-attributed swap amounts, and per-suite cursors. The indexer pairs quote-hook and pool swap events, records fee events by emitting contract, and advances suite cursors separately. Queries, scoring, and repair SQL use trader-attributed amounts and indexed quote fees.
Fee collection and launch reporting
app/src/lib/launchpad/fee-actions.ts, app/src/lib/launchpad/creator.ts, app/src/app/api/me/route.ts, app/src/app/t/[chain]/[token]/page.tsx, app/src/components/launchpad/CollectPanel.tsx, app/src/components/launchpad/MeDashboard.tsx, app/src/components/launchpad/collect-panel.test.ts, app/src/components/launchpad/me-dashboard.test.ts, app/src/components/launchpad/transaction-safety.test.ts
Shared fee actions select locker or vault operations from launch identity. The token page and dashboard display quote-only fee information and use the corresponding collection and claim requests. The wallet API supplies indexed quote-fee payments to launch records.

Priority: ➖ Normal

Change: Feature

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 09381

This PR adds an optional quote-only fee launch suite, which is disabled by default. CI is blocked because the workflow file changed. A maintainer must approve the CI edit, or the edit must move to a separate PR. The earlier fee-payout gas concern is reported as fixed, but the fix has not been confirmed.

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 09381

The new contracts handle creator revenue across multiple pools and cannot be reconfigured after launch. The examined paths have strong authorization, accounting, and recovery controls, but deployment identity and end-to-end integration assurances remain incomplete.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The hook and vault form a shared settlement authority for all pools registered to one quote-suite deployment. Pending fees and recipient credits are segregated by pool or position, but dependency or accounting failures could affect multiple launches sharing that deployment and quote asset.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — External callers can launch new pools and choose their initial recipients, but registration and activation are factory-only. Swap callbacks are PoolManager-only, accrual is hook-only, and redemption callbacks require PoolManager identity plus an active redemption. Permissionless claimFor pays only the account owning the recorded credit.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Partial fills revert before successful accrual. Collection verifies exact quote redemption and isolates recipient payouts in bounded self-calls; failed payouts become reserved credits. Collection and claims are reentrancy-guarded, and failed claims revert their credit and reserve changes. Settlement explicitly assumes standard, non-rebasing quote assets rather than arbitrary ERC-20 transfer behavior.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Make deployment enablement contingent on verifying the complete immutable dependency and contract wiring, not only address syntax and hook bits. Ensure legacy indexer writers are retired before quote-suite progress is relied upon for season finalization, and validate mixed-version rollout behavior.

…, hook, vault)

A second launch suite where the creator fee is charged only in the quote
asset, on buys and sells. QuoteLaunchFactory deploys an ownerless
LaunchLocker, a QuoteFeeVault and a QuoteFeeHook atomically; pools have
LP fee 0 and the hook accrues the fee as PoolManager claims to the vault.
Recipients are fixed at launch; collect and claim work as on the locker.
The original factory and locker are untouched.

Full fills are required in every direction: the fee is pre-charged on
quote-specified swaps, and a swap that fills nothing must not move the
price out of range. The vault keeps no write-only state on the swap path.

Tests: unit (28, incl. fuzz), Base and Robinhood fork tests with the
real routers, the "Buy with ETH" route through a quote-only pool, Arc
tests under Circle's runtime, and a deployment simulation on a Base fork.
Results are recorded in contracts/docs/QUOTE_FEES.md.

lp-v1 and quote-v2 coexist: launch rows record their factory, locker, fee
contract, hook, pool fee and creator rate; each suite has its own
resumable cursor, and the chain cursor /api/health reads follows the
slowest suite. Core Swap logs are paired with the hook's QuoteSwap by
transaction, pool and occurrence, so volumes and trades use the trader's
amounts; the accrued total rides the swap row. The Robinhood selector
slicing applies to both suites.

suite-kinds.ts and fee-actions.ts hold the per-suite ABIs and the
collect/claim/pending reads; quote-config.ts validates the deployment
from the environment. A Postgres integration check replays receipts and
ranges against the real schema and runs in CI.

The launch form offers the fee asset only where the quote-only suite can
launch, builds the first-buy pool key from the suite, and calls the
suite's factory. Token pages use the launch's own pool key and locker and
mark quote-only fees; the fee panel and the dashboard collect from the
vault through fee-actions. With the suite unconfigured the UI is
unchanged.

Check the remaining gas before every payout self-call so EIP-150 cannot
reduce the intended payout budget and turn a valid payout into a credit.
Cover native and ERC-20 retries and atomic rollback after an earlier payout.

The quote-only fee accounting and custody paths looked consistent in the static contract review, but I’m requesting changes for two app-side issues: a failed suite backfill can let incomplete season standings become final, and the trading UI counts the creator fee as extra price impact.

I’ve left the reproduction and suggested fix on each line. Please add regression coverage for both, resolve the conflict with main, and rerun the checks on the updated branch.

Reviewed e56a923. The backfill issue was reproduced using the current indexing/progress functions with mocked database and RPC responses; the impact example was checked against the current pure calculation. This was not a full contract security audit or a live transaction test. The documented Arc/B20 native-runtime reruns after the payout-gas change also remain a deployment gate, not a separate proven contract bug.

Initialize every suite cursor and publish their minimum before RPC reads,
so a failed first backfill cannot finalize incomplete season standings.
Pass the creator trading fee separately to normal and sell-all impact
calculations while retaining the quote pool's zero LP fee.

Add app regressions and a real PostgreSQL failed-backfill/retry check.

Thanks for the review. Both findings are fixed in 0938144:

  • Backfill progress: All suite cursors are initialized and their minimum published before RPC reads. Failed backfills now keep season finalization waiting. Added failure/retry regressions and a real PostgreSQL integration check.
  • Price impact: Normal quotes and sell-all estimates now use the creator fee separately. The pool’s LP fee stays zero, and your example correctly reports 13% impact.

Also merged main through c14aae7 and resolved the dashboard conflict.

Local validation passed:

  • 1,201 app tests
  • 90 contract tests
  • PostgreSQL integration
  • Lint, typecheck, and production build

Arc/B20 native-runtime reruns remain a deployment gate.

The remaining pr-guard blocker is ci-config for the existing workflow additions, which require the documented admin exception.

Could you take another look?

pr-guard blocks this workflow change.

The pr-guard job fails because this PR edits .github/workflows/ci.yml. The guard rejects changes to CI configuration from ordinary PRs. As a result, the CI run cannot pass as submitted.

The Postgres password (Lines 31 and 57) is a credential for a throwaway CI service. It is not a secret leak.
