abap2UI5 for decision makers is now a site of its own: abap2UI5/test-docs, published at https://abap2ui5.github.io/test-docs/. The manual carried the same content a second time. With this PR it stays there only, and the manual is for developers.

Companion PR: abap2UI5/test-docs#3. Merge that one first, so the redirects below land on sections that exist.

Changes

  • Removed pages: evaluate.md, resources/cost_calculator, resources/who_uses, resources/references.
  • Redirect stubs in docs/public/ keep the old addresses working, all with target="_self". Every stub now points at the new site:
    • evaluate.html and get_started/evaluate.html keep the #fragment. The framework README links #what-you-keep and #when-to-use-it-and-when-not, and the new page keeps every section id.
    • resources/cost_calculator.html → #what-it-costs
    • resources/who_uses.html and resources/references.html → #who-runs-it
  • Dead code removed: the cost calculator (theme/cost-calculator.js, cost-model.js, its hook in theme/index.js and site-js/site.js, its CSS and test/cost-calculator.test.mjs), and the landing layout, which only the Evaluate page used (build-site.mjs, docs.css).
  • Front door is the developer's:
    • The hero's second button is "See how it works" (In a Nutshell) instead of "Evaluate it for your organization".
    • The security card links Security.
    • The price card is gone.
    • The fourth tile, "Send it to whoever decides", hands over to the new site.
  • Links: In a Nutshell, Hello World and the Quickstart link the new site instead of the removed pages.
  • Sidebar: Evaluate, References, Who Uses and Cost Calculator are removed. Resources now opens on Client API.
  • check:cross-site: /test-docs/ is added as a neighbouring deployment.
  • AGENTS.md: the manual is for developers, and the five new redirect stubs are recorded (36 in total).

Kept on purpose: the blog essays #2 and #33–#35 (RAP / freestyle / low-code or abap2UI5). They are technical pieces with code and architecture for developers and do not repeat the decision-maker page.

Test

Passed locally:

  • npm test: 279 pass
  • npm run build (169 pages, no dead internal links)
  • docs:build
  • check:cross-site, check:design, check:images, check:line-length, check:vocabulary, check:playground, check:api-names, check:conventions

Not fully verified here:

  • check:version could not reach the release API, so it compared only the three places against each other.
  • check:samples, check:examples and check:api-reference were not run; CI covers them.

abap2UI5 for decision makers is its own site (abap2UI5/test-docs,
https://abap2ui5.github.io/test-docs/). What the manual carried for them
goes there instead of standing twice:

- docs/evaluate.md, resources/cost_calculator, resources/who_uses and
resources/references are removed; redirect stubs keep their addresses
(the Evaluate ones keep the #fragment - the new page has the same ids)
- the cost calculator's code, styles and test, and the landing layout that
only the Evaluate page used, go with them
- the front door is the developer's: "See how it works" instead of
"Evaluate", the security card links Security, the price card is gone, and
the fourth tile hands the page for decision makers over
- In a Nutshell, Hello World and the Quickstart link the new site
- /test-docs/ is a neighbouring deployment for check:cross-site
