**Note**: If this parameter is added to an existing TransportServerClaim, the cross-connect Service will be updated for `.spec.ports[0].port`.

## Direct TCP Access to Gold only, without GoldDR
By default, TransportServerClaims created in Gold are used to establish a direct TCP connection between Gold and GoldDR, but users may want to configure direct access from the Internet to a Gold service, similar to what is done in Silver, either because they use only Gold and do not have matching namespaces in GoldDR or because they just need direct access to a Gold service. This can be done by adding `mode: Standalone` to the TransportServerClaim. For example:

```
apiVersion: porter.devops.gov.bc.ca/v1alpha1
kind: TransportServerClaim
metadata:
labels:
app: myapp
name: myapp-standalone
spec:
mode: Standalone
monitor:
interval: 10
timeout: 11
type: tcp
service: myapp
servicePort: 2015
```

When created in standalone mode, the extra Services used for cross-cluster communication are not created. You will, however, find a TransportServer in your namespace after creating the standalone TransportServerClaim. Use the VIRTUALSERVERADDRESS and VIRTUALSERVERPORT to connect to your service:
```
$ oc get ts
NAME VIRTUALSERVERADDRESS VIRTUALSERVERPORT POOL POOLPORT IPAMLABEL IPAMVSADDRESS STATUS AGE
myapp-standalone 142.34.229.61 5242 myapp 2015 142.34.229.61 OK 35m
$
$ curl http://142.34.229.61:5242
Hello, from Gold!
```

Note that you will need a NetworkPolicy, [as described above](#create-network-policy-in-silver).
