RelarScanner2

Android app (Java) for the RealWear HMT-1 assisted reality headset, built for RELAR, an Erasmus+ research project on resilient remote maritime vocational training and examination during COVID-19.

Students wearing the headset scan a QR code pointing to a Google Sheet that instructors edit; the app reads the sheet and turns each row into a step on the device: join a Zoom session, open a downloaded document, follow a video link. Lists are cached on the device for offline reuse.

Context

The HMT-1 had little public developer documentation and vendor support required a paid license, so device integration (file handling, the Zoom hand-off) was worked out from scarce public examples and reverse engineering. The app was functional and used with students in the project's real-class evaluation. It is a research prototype, kept as-is.
