Hi, I installed the latest version of Berta V2.9.1 and used the windows platform so I was sure that everthing was there. Still I got the issue when you login " Http failure response for https://maquetist.be/_api/v1/login: 500 OK " I asked my provider to and has confirmed that mod_rewrite is enabled on the server. What's is missing or went wrong
Your server is fine for Berta: it runs Apache with PHP 8.4, and mod_rewrite works. Extracting the zip on Windows is fine too.
The 500 error happens only when the username and password are correct. At that moment Berta creates a login token, and for that it needs the file _api_app/.env. Berta creates this file by itself the first time the editor opens. But if the web server can't write to the _api_app folder, the file is never created, and every correct login ends with error 500.
How to fix it. Use your FTP client, and turn on "show hidden files", because files starting with a dot are hidden by default:
Check whether _api_app/.env exists.
If it is missing, do one of these:
Easiest: make the _api_app folder writable (permissions 755 or 775, depending on your hosting). Then reload the login page, and Berta will create .env itself.
If you can't change permissions: copy _api_app/.env.example to a new file named _api_app/.env. In that file, replace [YOUR_APP_KEY] and [YOUR_APP_ID] with two different random strings of letters and numbers, at least 32 characters each, with no spaces. Upload the file.
Make sure the folders storage and _api_app/storage (with all subfolders) are writable too.
Log in again.
Since you haven't logged in yet, you can also install Berta 2.10.0 instead of 2.9.1. On the first login it checks the server and tells you by name which file or folder has a problem.
If it still fails, please post the last lines of _api_app/storage/logs/laravel.log here.
