The record argues by existing.
Free, open methods and AI prompts for building a professional-grade case file — for representing yourself, or for handing your lawyer a running start.
| Method | Repo | Demo |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle defects & lemon law | lemon-case-file | demo case file |
| Health-insurance denials | health-insurance-case-file | demo appeal file |
| Contractor disputes | contractor-case-file | demo case file |
Each repo carries the method (METHOD.md), working-order AI prompts
(prompts/), a jurisdiction signpost layer (jurisdictions/ — dated, cited,
never a substitute for re-verifying), free evidence-site infrastructure
(site/), and a fully fictional demo.
Contribute: prompt fixes from real use, jurisdiction files, anonymized outcomes, new domains. Real case documents are never accepted — everything here stays 100% synthetic. Not legal advice, ever.
If you practice law: an hour of your review is the highest-leverage contribution
this project can receive — where could a method mislead a layperson in your
jurisdiction, which prompt should say "stop — counsel now," and what belongs in your
state's jurisdictions/ file. Write to mailbox@buildtherecord.org. Everything is
