This PR carries out the open renovate PRs, one commit per update. Each commit was verified locally with yarn lint, yarn dev-ci, yarn dev-prod-ci, and yarn build (the repo has no separate unit test suite) all passing at that commit's exact dependency state.

Carried out

Renovate PR Update Commit
#181 Node.js 18.12.1 → 18.20.8 (Dockerfile) Update Node.js to v18.20.8
#183 node → v24 (Dockerfile node:24.19.0; CI part blocked, see below) Update dependency node to v24
#161 @turf/centroid ^6.5.0 → ^7.0.0 — the existing CJS usage (turf.centroid(...)) still works in v7 (7.4.0), no code changes needed Update dependency @turf/centroid to v7
#170 babel-loader ^8.2.3 → ^10.0.0 — no config changes needed (the comunica v5 / n3 / traqula / rdf-string parts of that PR already landed on master) Update dependency babel-loader to v10

Skipped

  • Update babel monorepo to v8 #188 (babel monorepo v8): Babel 8 is ESM-only. Verified concretely: @babel/eslint-parser@8 peer-requires ESLint ^9/^10 and fails under ESLint 7 with SyntaxError: Cannot use import statement outside a module. Skipped per instructions to ignore ESM-only updates.

Blocked by missing workflow scope (patches included)

My credentials cannot push .github/workflows/* changes (neither via git push nor the contents API — both return "refusing to allow an OAuth App to … without workflow scope"), so two things need a maintainer push:

1. The CI workflow half of #183 (the Dockerfile half is in this PR):

--- a/.github/workflows/ci.yml
+++ b/.github/workflows/ci.yml
@@ lint job and deploy job
       - uses: actions/setup-node@v7
         with:
-          node-version: 20.x
+          node-version: 24.x

2. #189 (webpack-dev-server v6) — fully worked out and verified locally, but not included because it cannot go green without a workflow change. What it needs:

  • webpack-dev-server ^4.7.4 → ^6.0.0 in package.json.
  • yarn upgrade webpack (stays within the existing ^5.69.0 range, resolves to 5.109.2): v6 needs webpack ≥ 5.101 for compiler.platform, otherwise the server crashes at startup with TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'web'). With the newer webpack, yarn dev serves fine on http://localhost:8080/ (verified).
  • Dropping the 20.x entries from the build-dev and build CI matrices: webpack-dev-server 6 declares engines: node >= 22.15.0, and yarn 1 enforces engines at install time — this is why renovate's Update dependency webpack-dev-server to v6 #189 is currently red on all Node 20 jobs. Node 20 has been EOL since April 2026:
--- a/.github/workflows/ci.yml
+++ b/.github/workflows/ci.yml
@@ build-dev and build matrices
         node-version:
-          - 20.x
           - 22.x
           - 24.x

Once the matrix change is pushed (or workflow scope granted), the dev-server bump itself is just the package.json line + yarn upgrade webpack, and everything passes.
