Risk Assessment: low (1/5)

Details

Minimal-risk automated dependency update. Renovate bot bumps golang patch version (1.27.1 → 1.27.2) in .tool-versions only. Single-line change with no logic, no protected paths, and explicit risk/low and ready-for-merge labels. Patch releases carry negligible breakage risk.

Previous run

Risk Assessment: low (1/5)

Details

Bot-authored single-file config update bumping golang patch version with minimal blast radius, no security sensitivity, no protected paths, and no recent regression history on the file.

Retro: PR #1905 — Renovate golang 1.27.1 → 1.27.2

Outcome: no new proposals. The pipeline behaved correctly for a trivial bot patch bump, and every efficiency improvement this retro surfaced is already tracked by multiple open issues upstream.

What happened

  • Renovate opened the PR at 02:13 UTC changing one line in .tool-versions.
  • fullsend-ai-review posted a risk-assessment: low (1/5) and Looks good to me (empty findings) at 02:20 on the first SHA.
  • Renovate rebased; a second full review ran on the new SHA 37eea7b (run 38517945500, job dispatch / Review, ~7m53s), again approving with empty findings at 05:48.
  • CI passed; PR merged at 12:43 UTC. No human review comments; no fix cycle.

Observed cost

The review session trace shows 37 tool calls, 7 sub-agent dispatches, ~2.44M cached + 144K created cache tokens, 24.7K output tokens, cost $2.53 for a single-line, bot-authored, risk-1 patch bump — paid once per push, so twice on this PR after the Renovate rebase.

Why no proposals

I considered four angles and found each already covered by one or more open issues (no evidence of a review-quality miss on the merged diff itself):

  • Lighter review path for trivial bot dep bumps — fullsend-ai/fullsend #8383, #8095, #8135, #3240, #4060, #1358; fullsend-ai/agents #257, #513.
  • Skip re-review when Renovate rebases with no semantic change — fullsend-ai/fullsend #1355, #6278 (upstream fix via rebaseWhen: conflicted); fullsend-ai/agents #108, #323.
  • Gate full review on risk-assessment score — fullsend-ai/agents #1617 (CLOSED), with a reverted implementation attempt tracked in #1533 and test gap in #1532.
  • Autonomy / auto-merge for low-risk Renovate patch bumps — fullsend-ai/fullsend #3016, #7339 (umbrella); fullsend-ai/agents #1132.

This PR is one more data point for those issues: it is exactly the shape (bot author, .tool-versions only, patch semver, no logic touched, risk 1/5, approved with empty findings, merged with no human comments, re-reviewed on rebase) that each proposal describes. Filing another issue would duplicate existing work.

Autonomy readiness

The review agent's decision (approve, empty findings) matched the outcome (merged with no human changes requested). This is a clean positive signal for the auto-merge/autonomy track already captured by fullsend-ai/fullsend #3016 and the autonomy-readiness umbrella #7339.
