actions/checkoutprovides av7tag, so the workflow does not fail because this tag is missing. Pinning to a full SHA is optional and no repository requirement establishes it as a defect.

⚠️ Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.Pin the container images.
The matrix uses floating
latesttags (zizmorunpinned-imagesat Line 40). A new upstream image can change the package manager output format. This makes a scheduled run fail without any repository change. Pin the tags or digests if the checks must be reproducible. Keeplatestif the aim is to catch upstream changes early.Source: Linters/SAST tools

- Around line 15-16: Update the top-level permissions block to replace actions:
read with contents: read, preserving least-privilege access for actions/checkout
and removing the unnecessary actions scope.
- Around line 48-66: Update the “Confirm output matches expected format” step to
use POSIX sh syntax instead of the Bash-only here-string. Preserve trailing
newlines while capturing the package-owner command output, propagate and report
its failure status, use printf for line counting and input, and retain the
existing validation behavior including acceptance of multiple owners.

- Around line 54-55: Update the ownership validation around line_count and
pkg_count to query /bin/sh and /usr/bin/env separately, requiring nonempty
output for each path and validating each result independently; remove the
aggregate count check so missing ownership for one path cannot be masked by
multiple results for the other.

the command substitution directly.

As observed in CI, the script was failing to find /bin/sh on Ubuntu since it's a symlink to /usr/bin/dash.

@Johan-Liebert1 mind a review? And thank you for the suggesting this. |
Add CI with simple checks that our query-file-owner scripts are outputting in the expected format. This is a follow-up to e4e9a49.
Since this is adding CI, I'll need to check if it's working here, so I've added DNM to the title for now.
If this happens to expose issues with the scripts as they currently are, I'll try to fix those too.
