🚨 Severity: MEDIUM
💡 Vulnerability: The API responses were missing fundamental security headers, which are considered a best practice for defense in depth. Specifically:

  • Missing X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff (MIME-sniffing vulnerability).
  • Missing X-Frame-Options (Clickjacking vulnerability).
  • Missing Strict-Transport-Security (HSTS) (Insecure connection degradation).
🎯 Impact: Without these headers, clients or browsers interacting with the API might incorrectly interpret responses, be embedded in malicious iframes, or communicate over unencrypted channels if not explicitly mitigated at the edge.
🔧 Fix: Added the headers to the request_context_middleware so that they apply globally to all API responses.
✅ Verification: Ran git diff to verify the modified middleware code. Successfully ran the full integration test suite (tests/integration/test_api_e2e.py) to confirm the headers were added correctly and no regressions were introduced. Ran ruff to verify linting.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 9825043281521573268 started by @crabcanon

Added X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options, and Strict-Transport-Security to API responses in request_context_middleware to mitigate MIME-sniffing, clickjacking, and enforce HTTPS.
