Problem and fix

After the HUD is hidden and shown again, its native window can return to the normal Z-order band and appear behind other windows. Reassert HWND_TOPMOST after applying the HUD extended styles on opening, without activating, moving, or resizing it. Log the Win32 error immediately if the call fails.

Validation

  • dotnet build windows/Murmur.sln --no-restore: passed, 0 warnings and 0 errors.
  • dotnet test windows/tests/Murmur.App.Tests/Murmur.App.Tests.csproj --no-build --no-restore: 139 passed, including native topmost/focus/bounds and repeated opening tests.
  • User confirmed the restored fix in practice. The full test suite was not rerun; the prior run had an optional speech-quality failure without MURMUR_QUALITY_CORPUS.
