Summary

The Installed source foundation job read its selected versions from the repository's variables (SOURCE_FOUNDATION_CORE_VERSION, SOURCE_FOUNDATION_AS_VERSION, SOURCE_FOUNDATION_ADAPTER_VERSION). On the run for #529, which comes from a fork, all three read empty, so the job's version check failed in its first step, before anything was installed (run 39415287907: SELECTED_CORE_VERSION, SELECTED_AS_VERSION and SELECTED_ADAPTER_VERSION are blank in the step's environment). Runs for this repository's own branches and for master pass with the same workflow.

The released versions are now checked in beside the contracts, in contracts/source-foundation/released-versions.txt (core 0.13.141, account-sources 0.7.0, SQL adapter 0.6.13, the values the variables hold). Every run checks those versions, so a pull request from a fork that changes the contracts is checked before it merges, against the same versions as the push to master. A run that reads the variables fails when they differ from the file, so changing one without the other shows on the next run.

How this was verified

CI on this pull request: the job runs here with the variables set, so it exercises the comparison with the file and then the install, compile, provenance and PostgreSQL steps as before. The fork path shows on the next run of #529 after it merges master.

Migration notes

A change to the selected versions edits contracts/source-foundation/released-versions.txt, and the variables when they are kept.

Checklist

  • Tests cover the changed behavior. The workflow's own run is the check.
  • Docs are updated. The workflow carries the reason beside the step.
  • The title follows Conventional Commits, with ! before the colon for a change that breaks users (feat!: or feat(api)!:).

Summary by Sourcery

Make source-foundation CI consistently validate fork pull requests against the checked-in released package versions.

Bug Fixes:

  • Ensure fork pull requests validate source-foundation versions even when repository variables are unavailable.

Enhancements:

  • Keep released source-foundation package versions in a checked-in contract file and require configured variables to agree when present.

CI:

  • Update the source-foundation workflow to use checked-in versions for installation and validation across fork and repository runs.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Chores
    • Updated automated release workflows to validate configured package versions against the approved released versions.
    • Released-mode installations now consistently use the approved package versions.
    • Added approved versions for AgentOS 0.13.141, account sources 0.7.0, and the SQL storage adapter 0.6.13.
    • Existing baseline installation and version-format validation behavior remains unchanged.

… fork

The job reads the selected versions from the repository's variables, and on
the run for pull request 529, opened from a fork, all three read empty, so the
version check failed before anything was installed (run 39415287907). The job
now runs for pushes, manual runs and pull requests from this repository, and is
skipped for a fork's pull request; the push of its merge to master runs it with
the variables.

Reviewer's Guide

Updates the workflow job condition so installed source foundation validation runs on pushes, manual runs, and same-repository pull requests, while avoiding the empty repository-variable failure on fork pull requests; the merge push to the repository still validates the published packages.

High-Level Assessment

Keep the job-level condition: it prevents failures when repository variables are empty on fork pull requests while preserving checks for same-repository pull requests and post-merge pushes. Workflow-level filtering would be broader than necessary.

Gate the consumer job by pull-request origin

• Adds a job-level condition that skips fork pull requests but permits pushes, manual runs, and same-repository pull requests. An adjacent comment explains why fork runs cannot pass the repository-variable version check and notes that the post-merge push still runs the job.

Remediation recommended

1. Fork changes reach master unchecked ✓ Resolved
Description
The job-level condition skips consumer for every fork pull request, including requests that change
contracts/source-foundation/*.ts, so its compile, provenance, and PostgreSQL checks never run on
those changes before merge. The repository's TypeScript configuration includes only src, and this
workflow's next automatic run is the push to master, after the changes have merged.
Code

.github/workflows/source-foundation.yml[28]

+    if: github.event_name != 'pull_request' || github.event.pull_request.head.repo.full_name == github.repository
Evidence
The new condition skips the sole consumer job on fork pull requests. That job copies and compiles
the contract files, checks package provenance, and runs them against PostgreSQL; the workflow
otherwise runs automatically only for pull requests and pushes to master. The repository TypeScript
configuration excludes the contracts from its normal build.

The issue below was found during a code review. Follow the provided context and guidance below and implement a solution

## Issue description
Fork pull requests can change source-foundation contracts without running their only installed-package validation before merge.
## Fix Focus Areas
- .github/workflows/source-foundation.yml[24-28]
- .github/workflows/source-foundation.yml[43-63]
## Recommended Fix
Keep the contract validation running on fork pull requests. Supply its package versions from checked-in, non-secret configuration when repository variables are unavailable, while preserving the selected-version checks for runs that have those variables.

…ion versions

The repository's variables read empty on a pull request from a fork, so
skipping the job there left a fork's change to contracts/source-foundation
unchecked until the push of its merge to master. The released versions now
live in contracts/source-foundation/released-versions.txt, which every run
checks, a fork's included. A run that reads the variables fails when they
differ from the file, so the two cannot drift apart.

A run with one variable set and the others removed failed on the empty
ones. Each variable that is set is now compared with its line in
released-versions.txt, and an unset one leaves the file's version in
place.
