CI add dev branch to CI/CD workflows and README badges - #761

dev is the new default branch, but run_tests, build_docs, install_from_wheel and codespell only triggered on pushes and pull requests targeting main, so PRs into dev got no CI. Trigger them on both dev and main, and point the README codecov badge at dev. Summary
Updated CI/CD workflows and documentation to include the
devbranch alongsidemainfor automated testing, building, and spell-checking.Changes
devbranch to trigger conditions for:devbranch instead ofmainDetails
These changes enable continuous integration checks to run on both the
devandmainbranches, supporting a development workflow where thedevbranch serves as an integration branch before merging tomain. The codecov badge now reflects coverage metrics from thedevbranch, which is the primary development target.https://claude.ai/code/session_0133yjEZobSSkwp1tfxC7Jsj
