Tell us about yourself
I'm Ashutosh, an open-source developer and AI engineer from India. I created and maintain VengeanceUI, an open-source animated component library that has grown to more than 1,000 GitHub stars.
Open source has been a major part of how I've learned engineering. I've contributed more than 100 merged pull requests across organizations including Sugar Labs, KDE, Joplin, kgateway, FOSSology, and FOSSASIA.
I participated in Google Summer of Code with KDE/GCompris in 2025 and Sugar Labs in 2026, LFX Mentorship 2026 with Caracal, and Code for GovTech 2025 with Beckn. I'm also a Sugar Labs member and Code Owner for parts of Music Blocks.
A lot of my journey has been learning by building in public, contributing to existing communities, reviewing code, maintaining projects, and eventually creating my own open-source project and community around VengeanceUI.
I'd love to share both the technical side of building VengeanceUI and the lessons I've learned about growing and maintaining an open-source project as a student developer.

Additional Information
I'd be happy to make the session highly interactive and demo-focused.
I can walk through the VengeanceUI architecture, show how components are built and added to the library, explain the contribution workflow, and potentially take a small component or contribution from idea to implementation live.
VengeanceUI is also backed by Vercel through its open-source program, which has been a meaningful part of the project's growth and infrastructure. I'd be happy to share how that support has helped the project and what I've learned while building and maintaining an open-source project that has grown beyond a personal side project.
I'd also like to discuss my experience moving between contributor and maintainer roles across different open-source communities, and how those experiences influenced the way I approach VengeanceUI today.
I'm based in India (IST) and am happy to coordinate around the Open Source Friday schedule.
