Adds a complete, playable game under game/: Standard Operating Psychopathy, a post-apocalyptic bunker-management sim in the spirit of Sheltered × Oxygen Not Included × BoomTown, skinned as a Neue-Deutsche-Welle surveillance terminal (monochrome CRT amber, hard propaganda headers, cold motorik audio).

v1 — core sim

  • Conative Utility AI: subjects score actions against their Affective state (Stress / Hunger / Erschöpfung / Argwohn / O₂-Mangel) and commit to the highest directive — no state machines.
  • Dual view: PHYSICAL dollhouse vs CROSSLINK wiring overlay; power graph with components, batteries, relays.
  • Gas / O₂ diffusion, gas pockets ruptured by digging, scrubbers, walls.
  • Ecology: farms grow rations from power; the generator burns ÖL dug from the earth; excavation yields caches.
  • Disasters: Erdbeben break devices; high-stress Pyromanes sabotage wiring.

v0.2 — the surface

  • Save / Load: versioned JSON Akte, localStorage with safe wrapper + autosave, file export/import.
  • Expeditions: build a Luftschleuse (airlock) in the ceiling, send a subject topside; they return with weighted loot (Öl/Rationen/Metall/Beton) and an injury risk.
  • New subjects: Neuzugänge arrive at the airlock on a timer; a powered Funkturm (radio) halves the interval.

Validation

  • tools/smoke.js: headless simulation harness, 4× 28,800-tick (120-day) runs with earthquakes green; phase 2 covers airlock placement, the full expedition lifecycle, arrivals, and a save→corrupt→load→continue roundtrip.
  • tools/dom_test.js: jsdom boot/integration test green.

Run locally: cd game && npx serve . (or any static server), then open the page.

…nt sim

Post-apocalyptic colony sim built from the provided architecture prototype
(Sheltered x Oxygen Not Included x BoomTown), restyled as an NDW-era
institutional surveillance terminal (amber CRT, hard sans, motorik audio).

- Conative Utility AI: affective needs -> scored directives (eat/sleep/dig/
  crank/repair/flee/sabotage), no state machines
- Blackboard cognitive layer (dig orders, hazards, electrical nodes)
- Dual-layer renderer: physical dollhouse + Gunpoint-style Crosslink wiring
- Power graph with components, batteries, relay-hold; O2/gas diffusion
- Economy: farms (food), generator burns dug Oel (power), caches, digging
- Erdbeben events, device damage/repair, trait-driven psychotic breaks
- Headless smoke harness (validated 120-day survival) + jsdom DOM test

Co-authored-by: arena-agent <297053741+arena-agent@users.noreply.github.com>
- Save/load: versioned JSON Akte (world + inmates + scheduler state),
localStorage with safe wrapper, autosave every 1200 ticks, manual
  SICHERN/LADEN, file export/import; world.serialize/loadFrom and
InmateAI.serialize/fromData rebuild the full simulation state.
- Surface expeditions: LUFTSCHLEUSE (airlock, ceiling row only, single)
sends one subject topside via the new 'expedition' directive; they
return after 500-800 ticks with weighted loot (Öl/Rationen/Metall/
Beton) and an 18% injury chance. Airlock panel with candidate select,
  away countdown and signature-cached rendering.
- Colony growth: newcomers arrive at the airlock on a timer; a powered
FUNKTURM (radio, 30W) halves the interval. MAX_INMATES 6.
- main.js split into headless-safe step() + browser loop; UI guards for
audio; smoke test gains phase 2 covering airlock placement, expedition
lifecycle, arrivals, and a save->corrupt->load->continue roundtrip.
- Verified: 4x 28800-tick smoke runs + DOM boot test green.

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 0e221

Importing a crafted save file can run script in the game page. A malformed save can leave the game half-loaded and then overwrite the player's valid autosave. Fix save validation and escaping before merging.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 0e221

Imported save files can inject executable browser content, and rejected imports can still modify the running game. The development server also listens beyond localhost. Exposure is bounded primarily to a player's browser origin and the served directory; broader service privileges are not established.

Retained concerns

  • High · security · observed: The new save-import contract promotes attacker-controlled data into browser markup. Inmate names and traits enter inspector and event-log HTML, while imported statistics enter game-over HTML. A crafted save can cross from game data into script authority within the victim's browser origin.
  • Medium · reliability · observed: Import rejection does not contain state changes. The loader replaces world state before reconstructing the inmate roster; a subsequent exception returns failure without restoring the previous world. This breaks rollback and recovery at the untrusted persistence boundary and can leave the running game in a mixed state.
  • Low · security · observed: The new serve command explicitly binds the static HTTP server to all IPv4 interfaces rather than loopback. When network access permits, other hosts can retrieve files from the serving directory; the command does not establish a local-only development boundary.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — A malicious save author needs the player to import the file and reach a relevant rendering path; attacker administrative privileges are not required. The demonstrated execution scope is the victim's game origin and its accessible browser data. Backend, tenant-wide, host-command, and cloud-credential authority are not established. Static-server exposure separately concerns files in the serving directory.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • observed — The retained XSS findings have a common source: imported JSON fields are copied into inmate objects or statistics and interpolated into HTML without contextual escaping. Inspector rendering, inmate-event logs, and the game-over overlay provide distinct sinks within the same browser trust boundary.
  • observed — Successful imports remain eligible for later autosave, preserving imported names, traits, and statistics. Reloading that saved state requires the load control; startup does not automatically restore it.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — Invalid JSON and invalid versions are rejected before world mutation. Restored device ownership references absent from the new roster are cleared. None of these controls validates display strings, enforces numeric statistics, or escapes HTML. The document head provides no CSP declaration; externally supplied HTTP policy is unknown.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — A malformed save that fails after world replacement can leave old inmates paired with new world state. If execution remains viable, subsequent save operations can preserve this mixed state, extending an import failure into recovery-data corruption.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Treat saves as untrusted data throughout their lifecycle: validate a bounded schema, render imported values through text-only DOM operations, and reconstruct a candidate snapshot before committing it atomically. Keep the previous valid save available when restoration fails.
  • proposed — Default development serving to loopback and require deliberate opt-in for network access. For hosted use, consider a dedicated origin and restrictive CSP as defense in depth, not substitutes for safe rendering.

A rabbit surveys the bunker below,
While lamps cast their glow on the grid.
Inmates repair, then dig through the stone,
And journeys return with supplies.
I tap one paw; the saved world rests,
Then hop through the airlock at dawn.

Inline comments:
Review comments at @game/main.js:
- Around line 196-201: Update returnFromExpedition so it leaves the inmate away
and postpones the return when no free adjacent stand tile exists, including when
the airlock is missing. Only increment stats.expeditions and clear inm.away
after finding a valid stand tile and placing the inmate there.
- Around line 279-289: Update `loadGame` to validate the save’s required fields
and finite tick values, and construct all import state before changing live
state. Snapshot the current world with `world.serialize()` before
`world.loadFrom()` and restore it in the catch path if loading fails, so an
unsuccessful import leaves the running session and saved state intact.
- Line 289: Update loadGame’s statistics import to copy only the existing keys
in stats and set any imported value that is not numeric and finite to zero,
rather than assigning arbitrary data.stats properties. Also escape imported
inmate names before passing them to UI.log or UI.alert; locate the relevant
calls in the inmate import flow, including InmateAI.fromData.

Review comments at @game/package.json:
- Line 8: Update the "serve" script in the package configuration to bind the
development server to 127.0.0.1 by default instead of 0.0.0.0, keeping the
existing port and command unchanged.

Review comments at @game/tools/dom_test.js:
- Around line 39-73: Wrap the callbacks passed to both setTimeout calls in
try/catch so exceptions during the DOM interactions or delayed checks report the
accumulated errs and exit with status 1. In the first callback, guard
btn.click() so it is only called when btn exists; keep the assertion to record
the missing button.

Review comments at @game/tools/smoke.js:
- Around line 253-254: Update the arrivals assertion in the smoke test so it
cannot pass merely because the colony has no survivors. Use a fixed RNG seed or
fail if the colony dies before its first arrival window, then require at least
one arrival.
- Around line 143-148: In the battery-placement loop, guard access to dyn.x and
dyn.y when no dynamo is found, and update the battery lookup to select the
device at the coordinates passed to world.tryBuild rather than the first battery
in world.devices. Preserve the existing placement and wiring flow for a
successfully built battery.

Review comments at @game/ui.js:
- Around line 252-258: Update the restart click handler in showGameOver to
prevent listeners accumulating across repeated game-over displays; use a
one-time listener or replace the existing handler so each click invokes only the
current onRestart callback once.
- Around line 148-160: Escape all inmate-controlled values before interpolating
them into HTML in the inspector and other rendering paths, including names and
traits in inspector content, airlock options, and event-log messages. Locate the
inspector rendering around `el.inspector.innerHTML`, and apply a shared
HTML-escaping helper or use `textContent` for these values; preserve trusted
markup and existing formatting.

Review comments at @game/world.js:
- Around line 479-513: Update loadFrom to validate the save shape and build
tiles, devices, dig marks, hazards, and a complete resource set in local
variables before changing live world state; commit them only after all
construction succeeds. Also update loadGame to validate that inmates is an array
before calling loadFrom, so malformed saves cannot leave the world partially
replaced.
- Around line 382-386: Update the sensor, construction occupancy, and breathing
checks to exclude inmates marked away: add the away-state guard to the existing
inmate predicates and skip away inmates in the breathing loop. Keep the existing
dead-inmate checks and other behaviour unchanged.

232-232: 🎯 Functional Correctness

No module-counter collision exists.

InmateAI uses the inmate name as its ID. InmateAI.fromData restores the saved ID. New arrivals select names that are not already in use, so the proposed counter-reset scenario does not apply.

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Make loadGame atomic. A partial failure corrupts the running session, and autosave then persists the result.

world.loadFrom(data.world) replaces the live world before the inmate data is checked. Suppose data.inmates is missing, or SOP.InmateAI.fromData throws for one entry. The catch block then logs LADEN FEHLGESCHLAGEN.. However, the game keeps running with the saved world and the old inmates. Those inmates can stand on tiles that are now walls. Their operatedBy references can also point to devices that no longer exist.

The scalar fields have no validation either. Suppose a file has v: 1 but no ticks. Then ticks becomes undefined, and ticks++ makes it NaN. With NaN, the arrival, quake and autosave checks (ticks >= …, ticks % 1200 === 0) never pass again. The day display also shows NaN.

A failed import also stays in this mixed state. On the next autosave, the mixed state overwrites the valid save under SAVE_KEY. The player then loses the last good save.

Validate and build all new state first. Change the live state only after every step succeeds.

world.loadFrom can also throw after it has changed part of the world. In that case, take a snapshot with world.serialize() before the call. Restore the snapshot in the catch block.

Review comment at @game/main.js around lines 279 - 289:
Update `loadGame` to validate the save’s required fields and finite tick values,
and construct all import state before changing live state. Snapshot the current
world with `world.serialize()` before `world.loadFrom()` and restore it in the
catch path if loading fails, so an unsuccessful import leaves the running
session and saved state intact.

Catch exceptions inside the timers so that the test fails clearly.

An exception can occur inside the setTimeout callbacks, for example btn.click() when btn is null. Then process.exit(0) never runs. Node prints an uncaught error and exits non-zero, but no errors from errs are reported. Also, assert(btn, ...) is followed immediately by btn.click(), so the assert has no effect. Wrap each callback in try/catch. On error, print the accumulated errs and call process.exit(1).

Wrap the callbacks passed to both setTimeout calls in try/catch so exceptions
during the DOM interactions or delayed checks report the accumulated errs and
exit with status 1. In the first callback, guard btn.click() so it is only
called when btn exists; keep the assertion to record the missing button.

The arrivals assertion accepts a dead colony.

If every subject dies, the condition survivorsNow === 0 lets the arrivals check pass. In that case the test does not verify the arrivals mechanic. The log at Line 256 says that long runs verify the mechanic, but this test does not check that claim. Use a fixed RNG seed, or make the test fail when the colony dies before the first arrival window.

Escape imported inmate fields before inserting them with innerHTML.

loadGame accepts inmate fields from imported JSON without sanitisation. name and trait are later inserted into the inspector, airlock options, and event log. A crafted save file can therefore inject HTML and script content when the user imports or views the save. Escape every inmate-controlled value before insertion, or use textContent.

Register the restart listener only once.

showGameOver adds a new click listener to btn-restart each time it runs. After a load or a restart, the next game over adds one more listener. One click then calls onRestart several times. Use { once: true } or assign onclick.

Exclude expedition inmates from world effects.

The expedition flow keeps inmates in world.inmates and retains their grid coordinates while inm.away is set. The sensor, construction, and breathing checks therefore still treat them as present.

Add !i.away to these checks:

⚠️ Agent ran but produced no code changes.

The CI failures may require manual intervention.

View agent analysis
Nothing in the code matches the secret or mixed-content patterns. Next I'm checking which workflow defines these governance jobs.

I've made no changes: none of these failures comes from the game code, and fixing them means changing CI infrastructure, which I'm not allowed to do.

- **The PR has no diff against main.** HEAD (`099a7f0`) and `origin/main` (`c25e0ac`, the squash-merged #339) have identical trees, so the same failures would show up on `main`.
- **All 16 failing checks come from one external reusable workflow.** `.github/workflows/governance.yml:41` calls `hyperpolymath/standards/.github/workflows/governance-reusable.yml@fad242d…`. Grouped by cause:
  - **Missing Standards scripts** (checks 4–6, 9–13): the gate scripts aren't present in the Standards checkout — `.standards-dupkey/…/check-workflows-parse.sh`, `check-workflow-duplicate-keys.sh`, `.standards-lock/scripts/check-actions-lock-gate.sh`, `.standards-checkout/scripts/check-ts-allowlist.sh` and `check-language-policy.sh`. The errors read like "not found in the pinned Standards revision" or "standards checkout … failed?", so either that checkout step broke or the pinned revision doesn't contain these paths.
  - **editorconfig action** (checks 7–8): `editorconfig-checker/action-editorconfig-checker` with `version: latest` fails with "binary 'ec-linux-amd64*' not found". That's an upstream release-asset problem.
  - **Security policy and Well-Known** (checks 1–3, 14–16): I ran the job's own greps on the repo — the hardcoded-secrets pattern, HTTP links in HTML, and the canonical-references check. None match: `game/index.html` has no `http://` links, there's no hardcoded secret, and there's no `.github/canonical-references/` or `security.txt`, so those steps skip or pass. The log excerpts are cut off before the actual error, so I couldn't see which step failed. Most likely it's another step that depends on the Standards checkout, but I haven't confirmed that.

To fix this, someone needs to update the Standards pin at `governance.yml:41` to a revision that has these scripts (and a pinned editorconfig-checker version), or fix it in the Standards repo itself. Both are changes to CI workflows.

utility-driven inmate AI, construction and wiring, power and gas
simulation, disasters, CRT-style rendering, and audio. Include surface
expeditions, newcomer arrivals, autosave/manual save/load and JSON
import/export, plus smoke and DOM test harnesses.

Document AI, world, rendering, UI, audio, and persistence functions.
Validate world saves, normalize restored statistics, defer expedition
returns when the gate is blocked, and bind the development server to
localhost.

Scope exceeds the task title “Generate docstrings for PR #339”: the
eight-commit range adds the entire game alongside documentation and
