fix(ci): supply release-tag version to pinned Idris installer - #257
The Proven Tests lane passed IDRIS2_VERSION=0.7.0 to its pinned installer, which tried to clone a nonexistent branch. Supply v0.7.0 at that installer step while preserving the framework pin and the numeric version elsewhere.
Correct PROOF-NEEDS: the Hexad proptest exercises an in-memory serde_json::Value round-trip on generated samples. It does not call the on-disk write/load functions and is not a universal proof.
Validation: 653 default Rust tests passed; the signing/http/sarif run passed 720 with three existing ignored tests. Feature Clippy passed. Strict panic and Pons scans on all four audit repositories returned partial coverage, documented in hyperpolymath/cicd-suite#77. Hosted source failure: run 41390102464.
The owner/lock migration experiment at 6addd22 still startup-failed and violated CI Integrity, so it is reverted rather than weakening that gate. Existing governance/Hypatia/Rust reusable startup failures remain unresolved. GUI, real distributed Chapel execution, complete coverage and proof/runtime refinement are not claimed. Details: docs/ASSURANCE-AUDIT-2026-11-04.adoc; upstream installer/contract repair: hyperpolymath/proven-tests-and-benches#103.

Summary
Idris2 installer version .github/workflows/proven-tests.yml, docs/ASSURANCE-AUDIT-2026-11-04.adoc
The workflow passes v0.7.0 to the pinned installer. The audit records the clone failure caused by the missing prefix and the caller-side correction.
Test evidence and stated limits PROOF-NEEDS.adoc, docs/ASSURANCE-AUDIT-2026-11-04.adoc
The proof note describes an in-memory JSON round-trip test on generated samples, not an on-disk persistence test. The audit records Rust test and Clippy results, scanner findings, model and test limits, a reverted migration, and remaining work.
The repository entry points link to the canonical Code of Conduct and Security documents. The audit records these links.

Summary
Build, install, and task recipes Justfile
The release build uses --locked; installation creates $HOME/.local/bin; formatting checks all targets; and doctor delegates to scripts/doctor.sh. The assail recipe invokes panic-attack directly.
Diagnostics, setup, and user guidance scripts/doctor.sh, setup.sh, QUICKSTART-USER.adoc, docs/ASSURANCE-AUDIT-2026-11-04.adoc
The diagnostic script checks tool availability and reports failures. Setup probes recipe availability with just --show and can propagate diagnostic failures. The quick start describes build, installation, scan, and troubleshooting behaviour. The audit records the installation changes.
Entrypoint tests and CI scripts/ci/test-entrypoints.sh, .github/workflows/verify.yml
The test script checks diagnostic and setup outcomes and assail exit-status propagation. CI verifies the pinned Just archive checksum before running the tests.
The remaining issue is documentation-only and does not affect installer behavior, but the audit terminology should be corrected.

Explanation
The title names the change: it supplies the release-tag version (v0.7.0) to the pinned Idris installer in CI. The raw summary confirms the workflow change passes a v-prefixed IDRIS2_VERSION to the installer. The title is specific and matches the primary change, though the rest of the changeset (Justfile, scripts, docs, verify workflow) is broader.

Fix release tag passed to the pinned Idris2 installer
fix(ci): supply release-tag version to pinned Idris installer
Nov 4, 2026
The proof-ledger review finding is corrected at 4eeadf8: the Hexad property checks an in-memory serde_json::Value round-trip, not the file write/load path. Hosted CI Integrity, Code Coverage, Proven Tests, Verify, CodeQL, security audit, dependency review, secret scanner and dogfood passed at that code revision. The bridge gate is skipped; old-owner governance/Hypatia/Rust reusable lanes remain failed.
The attempted owner/lock migration was reverted after its failure was measured; no integrity gate was weakened. Community entry points added at a616964 link existing policies. Cross-tool partial-coverage feedback is in #117 and migration evidence in hyperpolymath/hypatia#991.
Installation follow-up pushed as e2c7876. Reproduced just --list failing on duplicate ci/fmt-check recipes. The repair also preserves scanner exit codes, makes doctor fail for missing/broken tools, stops setup after failed diagnostics, creates the user-local install directory, and replaces invented user quickstart commands with the locked Cargo build path.
15 isolated controls pass locally and in the hosted Installation entrypoint controls job (Verify run 41835964818, job 126594812139). The harness rejects the original Justfile, original setup fallback, and an always-successful doctor independently. These controls test entrypoint behavior, not actual cross-platform installation or Rust compatibility. Remaining provisioning work is recorded in docs/ASSURANCE-AUDIT-2026-11-04.adoc.
Full hosted verification is still running; legacy reusable workflow startup failures remain visible. This PR is not merged or counted complete.

Describe 0.7.0 as a release tag, not a branch.
Line 15 calls 0.7.0 a branch, but lines 16–17 identify v0.7.0 as the upstream release tag. This can misstate the failure mechanism. State that the installer requested the unprefixed ref 0.7.0 instead of the release tag v0.7.0.

The custom-tools gate previously omitted strict coverage flags, so
unsupported input could appear successful. It now runs both scanners,
requests strict coverage, bounds each invocation and distinguishes
incomplete execution from finding failures, including signal-derived
exits through 255. Panic assail findings remain report-only; this does
not introduce an undeclared severity policy.
Validation: 183 gate controls, including 144 exit-code pairs and an
actual timeout; a Bash driver passed 73 real scanner/report/parser
controls. The original gate fails strengthened controls. Fixed
ShellCheck findings in the test-directory change and an intentional-glob
directive. The Python driver was replaced after hosted language-policy
rejection, without relaxing the gate.
The audit documents eight strict cross-scans (all partial), test/proof
inventories, performance samples and bounded experiments. Pons passed
251 tests after its separate repair; panic passed 720 with
signing/http/sarif (three ignored). Live Idris results: 41 framework, 56
type-safe, 110 spec and eight pinned ordering-law checks; four benchmark
workloads passed. These are scoped observations, not complete coverage
or universal soundness.
Companion repairs: hyperpolymath/proven-tests-and-benches#103,
hyperpolymath/pons-asinorum#68, hyperpolymath/panic-attack#257. A
Standards owner/lock migration experiment failed consumer integrity and
startup checks and was reverted at the consumers; the audit retains the
evidence. Renaming to proven-cicd, estate consumer migration,
unavailable security dashboards and remaining proof/runtime obligations
are not completed.
