The README now explains OpenBoost's programmable boosting vision and distinguishes the twelve CPU recipes from the bounded CUDA recipe coverage. A capability matrix, linked correctness and cost evidence, a runnable custom-learner example, and next milestones replace the accumulated checkpoint narrative.
The sprint index and agent guide also record the completed PR #25 merge. This update changes documentation only; production code, frozen sources, and raw evidence remain unchanged.
Validation: the exact README example completes three accepted rounds with custom stumps and exact saved-model prediction replay. All 34 relative links resolve; production/example Ruff, strict MkDocs, and wheel/sdist builds pass. Wheel metadata contains the updated README verbatim.
Merge with a merge commit to preserve the execution history used by evidence audits.
