Usage tests compared an aliased temporary path against canonical source-discovery paths on macOS. This broke the configured-home assertion and prevented the in-flight scan test from receiving its start signal.
Resolve the fixture root to its real path before constructing homes. No production behavior or timeout changes.
Validation: all 9 UsageService tests pass; exact-head Quick CI passes.
Implemented by Codex (GPT-5) in the Codex harness.
