Pull request overview
Adds a new resource entry under Business Records → Company Profiles to help validate Chinese Unified Social Credit Codes (USCC) client-side, supporting the framework’s goal of improving OSINT workflows by reducing common input errors before registry searches.
Changes:
- Added a “Unified Social Credit Code Checker” URL entry with description, usage context, I/O fields, and OPSEC note.
- Marked the tool as
opsec: passivewith an explicit statement that nothing is queried/transmitted.

Disclosure: I maintain Currawong and the linked checker.
Adds one resource under Business Records / Company Profiles:
https://currawongweb.com/verify/china-usci-checker/
The free browser tool checks the length, allowed characters and check digit of China's 18-character Unified Social Credit Code before separate registry research. It also explains selected code fields.
A passing result means only that the characters are internally consistent. It does not confirm correct transcription, company existence, current status, factory capability, account ownership or permission to export. A code can be copied from a different company or constructed to pass the check.
The arithmetic runs in the browser and does not query a registry. The page places the entered code in the URL fragment for sharing, so recipients of a shared link can see it. This is not a claim that browsing the hosted website is anonymous.
Validation on 19 September 2026: opened the public checker without an account and tested a consistent code and the same code with an altered check character; the alteration was rejected. Parsed the proposed JSON successfully.
This revision corrects two overstatements in the original proposal: a passing checksum cannot confirm correct transcription, and local calculation does not justify saying that nothing is logged or transmitted by the website. The metadata now states the narrower behavior. The PR still adds just one resource and makes no unrelated changes.
The guide links to source information and states its limits. Editorial changes or recategorisation are welcome.
