Read the web through Lyrenth's index, from any Dify app, workflow, or agent.
Point it at a URL and it gives back the page as clean Markdown: the article, without the navigation, the cookie strip, the sidebar, or the footer. Behind it is an index of over 4 billion pages, so most reads come back from the index rather than a live fetch.
Read URL turns one public web page into an AIDocument: the body as Markdown, plus the title, description, language, headings, links, images, and structured data found on the page. It also reports how many tokens the cleaned page costs against the raw HTML, so you can see what each read saved you.
Read URLs does the same for up to 20 pages in one call. Every URL is reported on its own. A page that is behind a login, blocked by its own firewall, or disallowed by its robots.txt comes back with a plain sentence saying so, and the other pages in the batch are unaffected.
Get quota reports the plan your key is on, the credits used this month, and when the balance resets. This call is free.
- Create a free API key at https://lyrenth.com/signup. The free plan is 2,000 reads a month and takes no card.
- In Dify, open Tools, find Lyrenth, and choose To authorize.
- Paste the key, which starts with
aiwk_, and save. Dify checks it against your account before it accepts it.
The tools are then available in any Agent or Workflow node.
In an Agent app, add Read URL to the tool list and ask a question that needs a page:
Read https://example.com/pricing and tell me what the top plan costs.
The agent calls the tool, gets the cleaned page, and answers from it.
In a Workflow, add the tool as a node and wire a URL into its url input.
The node outputs both the Markdown text and the full AIDocument as JSON, so
a later node can branch on the title, the links, or the word count.
Every read is served from the index by default, which is the fast path and costs one credit. Set Freshness to fetch the page again if you need the version that is live right now; that skips the index and costs two.
Token cap trims the returned Markdown to roughly the number of tokens you give it, cut at a clean paragraph or sentence, for when a downstream model has a fixed context budget.
Markdown only, on Read URL, returns the page text without the structured fields. Same cost, smaller response.
A read costs one credit, or two when you ask for a fresh fetch. In a batch, only the pages that were actually read are charged; a page that failed costs nothing. Checking your quota is free. Current plans are at https://lyrenth.com/pricing.
- URLs must be
httporhttps. - Read URLs takes at most 20 URLs per call.
- Lyrenth honors every site's robots.txt, so a URL a site disallows cannot be read here.
- Lyrenth does not index or serve adult content.
python3 -m venv .venv
.venv/bin/pip install -r requirements.txt
.venv/bin/python -m unittest discover -s tests -vThe tests run the tool classes against a local fake of the Lyrenth API, so they need no key and make no outbound calls.
To run against a real Dify instance, copy .env.example to .env, fill in
the key from Dify's plugin debugging panel, and run python -m main.
