Changes by platform

PlayFab — lastUpdated 2026-06 → 2026-10

Change: Development Mode free-tier player limit corrected from 100,000 to 1,000 lifetime players per title.
Why it matters: Microsoft reduced this limit in March 2026 (99% reduction), but the figure in the June update was not corrected.

Fields changed:

  • pricingDetails: "Free development mode (100K players per title…)" → "Development Mode: up to 1,000 lifetime players per title (10 titles)…"
  • strengths[0]: "Free development tier supporting up to 100K players per title" → "Development Mode free tier for up to 10 titles; Foundation Mode for Xbox-shipping games at no extra cost"

Colyseus 0.17 (February 2026) and 0.18 (August 20, 2026) shipped material new SDK support and tooling.

New SDK platforms (Colyseus 0.18 Native SDK)
Godot, GameMaker, Flutter, Swift, and MonoGame are now official Colyseus SDK targets.

  • platforms: added 'godot'
  • multiplatformSDK.description: updated SDK list to include Godot, GameMaker, Flutter, Swift, MonoGame, and the C-based Native SDK (beta)

@colyseus/admin (Colyseus 0.18)
New operations console with live room inspection, CRUD, and CPU profiling replaces the older @colyseus/monitor as the primary admin tool.
Source: https://colyseus.io/blog/colyseus-018-is-here/

  • adminDashboard.description: updated to mention @colyseus/admin (beta)

Persistence limitation updated
The previous limitation "No built-in persistence (requires external database)" is no longer accurate: @colyseus/database (official, 0.18) provides PostgreSQL and SQLite support. Updated to note that a self-managed database is still required (no managed cloud persistence).

  • limitations[1]: updated accordingly

A Colyseus 0.18 release entry was added to sources.

Platforms with no material changes

  • Metaplay (2026-06): Release 38 (August 2026) shipped enhancements (Guild Data Mirroring, currency offer improvements) within already-covered feature areas. No feature-flag changes warranted.
  • AWS GameLift (2026-06): Free network bandwidth (June 2026) and new EC2 generations already captured in the June update. No post-June material changes verified from official sources.
  • Unity Gaming Services (2026-06): Engine-level pricing changes (Pro/Enterprise plans) do not affect UGS service features. Multiplay end-of-service already captured.
  • brainCloud (2026-02): Pricing plan lineup confirmed against official source; no additions or changes since February.
  • AccelByte (2026-06): ADT 2026.3 and AGS 2026.3.0 released before June; no material post-June changes found from official sources.

Every edit is sourced and must pass the neutrality check before merge.
