SIMS — School Information Management System

A comprehensive, role-based school management platform built for Ugandan primary and secondary schools.

Local Setup (WAMP)

# 1. Clone the repo
git clone https://github.com/mugabecharles/sims.git
cd sims

# 2. Install PHP dependencies
php composer.phar install

# 3. Install JS dependencies
npm install

# 4. Copy environment file
cp .env.example .env

# 5. Generate app key
php artisan key:generate

# 6. Create database (MySQL)
mysql -u root -e "CREATE DATABASE sims CHARACTER SET utf8mb4 COLLATE utf8mb4_unicode_ci;"

# 7. Run migrations and seed
php artisan migrate --seed

# 8. Build frontend
npm run build
