Eagle View adds a small widget above the OMP editor. It watches the session and explains the current work in one short sentence.

When the work gets weird

Long sessions and complex tasks can sometimes leave you wondering what on earth it is doing right now?

OMP already shows the agent's todo plan, but when the plan looks like this it's not much comfort:

Eagle View watches the session activity, then translates the important parts into short, everyday English. It keeps the useful context while leaving the abstract terminology behind.

Open /eagle-view inspect for a timestamped history of accepted updates. The newest message stays at the top, new updates appear live, and consecutive exact repeats collapse into one entry:

Install

Install directly from GitHub:

Restart OMP, then check the installation:

Eagle View requires OMP 18.2.5 or newer and an authenticated model.

Commands

Command	What it does
/eagle-view or /eagle-view toggle	Toggle Eagle View for the current session.
/eagle-view refresh	Generate a new update now.
/eagle-view inspect	Open the current session's update history.

Press Esc or q to close the message history.

Settings

See every setting and its current value:

Add --local to set a value for the current project only:

Setting	Default	Description
enabled	true	Start Eagle View automatically.
intervalMinutes	2	Minutes between automatic checks. Accepts 0.25 to 1440.
initialEventCount	3	Whole number of events required before the first update. Accepts 1 to 100.
icon	🦅	Symbol shown before the update. Use an empty string to hide it.
prompt	Wise, plain-spoken voice	Controls wording and tone.
model	Current session model	Any model listed by omp models, from any authenticated provider.

By default Eagle View uses your session model. For lower cost, set a small, fast model.

Settings are loaded when an OMP session starts or switches. Project settings override global settings.

Privacy and cost

Eagle View sends a small, bounded snapshot of recent activity to the selected model: your messages, assistant replies, and tool names with their short stated intent. It does not read or send other tool arguments, tool results, or stored transcripts.

Message history and a short running summary of earlier progress stay in memory and reset with the session. Narration requests use the selected model's provider credentials and may incur provider usage or cost. If that model comes from a different provider than your session model, your session activity is sent to that provider too. Eagle View avoids repeat requests when the work has not changed.

If the model is missing or rejects the credentials, Eagle View shows a paused warning and stops automatic requests until /eagle-view refresh or a new session. Temporary errors show a warning after three failures in a row.
