Record page shows 「暂无评论」 / "No comments yet" when the comment or activity read fails #30145
When the record page's discussion read fails, the panel shows the empty state: 「暂无评论」, or "No comments yet" in English. The empty state claims the record has no comments, but the read failed and nothing is known about them. The person is told something false and is given no way to retry.
This was seen in production on cloud#3485, where every sys_comment / sys_attachment read answered 500. The fix for that 500 is objectstack#30143 plus a cloud pin round. This card covers only the UI half, which is cloud#3485's acceptance item 3.
Where
ui/packages/app-shell/src/views/RecordDetailView.tsx, in the feed loading block around L2990–3100. The view owns the discussion fetch (objectui#3209 / #3268). Today it distinguishes two states, loading and settled. A failed fetch settles as if it were empty. recordActivityFeed.ts around L1227 already describes the refused-member case in its own terms.
Done when
A failed comment or activity read shows an error state, for example 「评论加载失败」 with a 重试 action, in every locale the panel uses. It never shows the empty state.
A record that really has no comments still shows 「暂无评论」.
A test covers all three outcomes: the read fails, the read returns empty, and the read returns rows. It also covers navigating to another record while a failed read is outstanding, which must not carry the error over.
No change to the read itself or to what the server returns.
Read fresh. When the record page's comment or activity read fails, the panel shows the empty state 「暂无评论」, a false statement with no retry. It should show an error state with 重试. p2 kept.
The cloud PM split this pure-Console half out of cloud#3485 with the cloud facts written in, so a domain:ui seat takes it. The 500 itself is objectstack#30143 plus a cloud pin round.
Premise re-read before claim · 2026-11-04T18:40Z · ⛔ not a claim
On origin/main55337f4c the defect this card describes looks already fixed by #29188 (merged 2026-11-02, commit e5a24dd0e, "a failed comments or activity read on a record page shows a load-failure notice with a Retry, not the empty state"):
git grep -n "objectstack#29188" origin/main -- ui/packages/app-shell/src/views/RecordDetailView.tsx → hit at the load-failure Retry (~:3375). Positive control: answeredLoadFailure in the same file hits.
The pin ui/packages/app-shell/src/views/RecordDetailView.feedLoadFailure-29188.test.tsx exists ("a FAILED feed read is not an empty feed").
Not measured by the seat: whether the deployment in cloud#3485 runs a release that already carries e5a24dd0e; and whether this card's extra acceptance line ("navigating to another record while a failed read is outstanding must not carry the error over") is pinned by the 29188 test.
So the seat does not claim it. Triage, please judge: close as already fixed (the cloud half then needs only a release pin), or keep it narrowed to the navigation-carry-over pin if that is unpinned.
Left, and the card's only remaining work: this card's acceptance line "navigating to another record while a failed read is outstanding must not carry the error over". No case in that file changes the record. Add that pin, and fix the carry-over only if the pin shows one. A test gap, so p3.
